Carter P4070 fuel pump mounting hardware option

The Carter P4070 electric fuel pump comes with a nice bracket by which you can hang it from a vertical surface using grommets they supply.

In addition there is an optional "noise kit" part 1814U that comprises three rubber isolation mounts that look like this:

The problem with this is that the grommets and washers are easy to lose, and the mounting hardware is not available separately as far as I know.

In addition, the noise kit is both hard to find and expensive. It is available as a Napa item with the same part number for about $25, although when I ordered two at my local store they came from two different Napa stores elsewhere in California costing me an additional $8 each for shipping.

These issues motivated me to find alternatives which I did at, as usual, at Mcmaster-Carr, as follows:

For mounting pump to bracket:
·Upper washers: 94744A233 Type B Zinc-Plated Steel Flat Washer NO. 10 Screw Size, 47/64" Wide OD, .03"-.08" Thk
·Lower washers: 95229A450 Military Spec Cadmium-Pltd Steel Flat Washer 5/16" Screw Size, .02"-.04" Thk, NAS1149-F0532P
·Grommet: 9311K9 :Vibration-Damping Grommet Low-Damp TPE, .503" Hole Dia, .070" Plate Thk

The McMaster grommet seems a little stiffer and a tighter fit than the original, but I don't see how that would introduce any significant functional difference.

As a substitute for the noise reduction kit, three each of any of the following. These cost $1.69 ea.:

·9376K29 Natural Rubber Vibration Damping Sandwich Mnt Cyl, Male/Male, 1/4"-20, 3/4" H, 1" W, 3/4" H Thrd
·9376K22 Natural Rubber Vibration Damping Sandwich Mnt Cylndrical, Male/Male, 1/4"-20, 3/4" H, 1" W, 1/2" H Thrd
·9213K15 Neoprene Vibration Damping Sandwich Mount Cylindrical Male/Male 1/4"-20, 3/4" H, 1" W
·9213K16 Neoprene Vibration Damping Sandwich Mount Cylindrical Male/Male, 1/4"-20, 3/4" H, 1" W

These are all specified the same in the catalog, shear load of 9 lb, but differ only in stud length (1/2" or 3/4") and material (natural rubber or neoprene). Inspecting and playing with them revealed no difference from the Napa part that I could discern. Note also there are equivalents with 6 mm studs if you want to stay metric.
