MKII center spindle plugs

Looking for info on the center spindle plugs, specifically the ones on P/1046. They appear to be aluminum, sit proud by about 1/2" off the spindle thread, two small holes on the outside diameter and a washer/nut in the center? Maybe to assist this knock-off install? Any help, pictures measurements, etc... appreciated.

I don't know anything about the part , your question sent me looking and now I found a few more parts.

Not a mk2 but very close to the same part , from Alan Mann GT1 mk1.

Looks like it might have helped with avoiding cross threading when putting the spinner back on.

Was talking to Dennis Olthoff about these, as I had thought for ease of spinner install too. He said they were for a spindle nut retaining affair and were not used in may cases and eventually abandoned. But they do look cool!
