Southern GT rear wishbone query

Anybody out there with a southern GT or a southern gt rear end who could do me a quick favour?
Like the tight ar*e that I am, rather than but a proper set of Mick's adjustable wishbones, I tried to adapt mine by shortening them. However on fitting up the rear suspension, the lower radius arm brushes on the chassis rail. I know it's always a tight fit, but it seems I may have miscalculated how much I should have cut down my GTD arms.
If there's someone who has a roadgoing Southern GT or a GTD with the modification, I would be most grateful if they could measure the distance between centres of the lower "A" arm at the rear. I make mine around 36cm (by eye) how does that sound?
Any advice gratefully received.

Simon

I hasten to add, this is NOT a problem with the excellent southern GT rear end, rather a consequence of my trying to adapt different parts when I should have just bought what was recommended!
