The only thing the article said was its a 2007 GT and the road appears wet....

I can see some dirt behind the car, the left side tires appear to be dirty and the rights are clean.....

Plus, there seems to be somthing odd between the rear tires.

I'm thinking tank slapper, then lefts off the road, leading to slow roll and then a long slide on the roof.......

Tim, there is a time limit on editing. I'm not sure how long it is though.

'Twas pretty much immediate.

Perhaps the pic' illustrates the gulf between what we (and our computers) believe we know about aerodynamics and what we actually know about aerodynamics... ;)

Jim;

Okay. Then, probably what became the 'curb side' tires went off the road 'at speed' for some reason...the driver over-corrected, and...

'Sound about right???

'Sucks regardless.

The "something odd between the rear tyres" is part of the belly pan that's been ripped upwards and curled at the edge.

I disagree Keith. It looks more like a very large meat cleaver. Impressed you snuck the word "gulf" in there Tim

Oh, so it was in Australian then? Didn't realise that.

Steel roof very deformable. Oooops not sure I would be happy with that. It looks like a big headache for someone.

It sure looks like it might be...but, as I recall, the rear diffuser on a FGT is made from fiberglass & it has several parallel, longitudinal 'fins' molded into it back there. So one would think the darned 'pan' would have to snap off rather than "curl"/bend in that area.

'Blowing up' the photo blurs the darned image so much that I can't really tell what went on back there. I'm thinkin' what we may be looking at might be some kind of road debis, or part of a guard rail that was struck which is just out of the camera shot somewhere? Or, maybe it's part of the lower rear fascia? That area is made of metal.

I dunno...

At least he's on the correct side of the road. Although if this happened in OZ, maybe he's NOT on the correct side of the road.

Don't drive on the roof, that's my motto.
