Auction This Weekend: 1966 FORD GT40 MK I Serial #1065

The guys who store my ERA in Houston freshened this up for auction (and I think had a significant financial interest). Is/was a beautiful car in person.

    RCR 917 motor options

With regards to the 915 gearbox in a lightweight 400hp car, you'll have no problem. You'll have so much tire in the back it'll be interesting to see how acceleration from a start is. If you look around a bit you can find a later 915 with a factory built in aux cooler (euro 911's in the early...

    Fuel tanks on ERA

Dave's right. We have the vapor collectors here in Houston and on my ERA if I flip it so the nozzle is inverted so the handle is pretty much vertical, it wont kick the shut-off. But, still slow going. Chuck

G50 - How Much Lash Is OK ?

Was helping a buddy with pads and rotors today on his 993 and with a 17 inch wheel we had about 10-12 mm at the rim and the output spline in/out movement was unmeasurable given what we had laying around but I'd say it was negligible. Is the through bolt in the output shaft tight? Splines in...

    917 at Snetterton !

I'd guess (after a year plus absence from the fun auto world - been E55'ing overseas) that they are going to use a 915 series porsche trans and recc the use of the factory or better cooler with a lsd. Flipping the ring gear is easy in these boxes and they bolt up to all the easy access 911...

    550 rs speedster replica

Drove a few beck spyders They are a blast and a bargain to drive. The Thunderranch cars are a cointinuation of Beck's program (or licensed or some such) and have received some well thought improvements I have heard. Another nice feature is that these can be driven pretty sedately if your just...

    2006 Ford GT info....

Mmmmm, Elle. The most trouble I ever got into for buying a Sports Illustrated issue was due to a picture of Elle in the swimsuit edition. I wonder if she's too tall to sit in a Gulf colored GT? A Porsche Cayman brochure that I saw pushed the Porsche racing heritage to new highs. But the...

    2006 Ford GT info....

A head on picture from Concorso Italiano http://www.speedsportlife.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=2212&cat=670 I'd certainly prefer that car or the pure silver for a daily driver over most of the other colors I have seen. Too bad the dealer's are such wanks about these. They'll suffocate...

    Graham Turner's GT40s

Re: Graham Turner\'s GT40s Graham, No building gt40's until you start duplicating 917's! You can't leave us 917 fans at the mercy of the guys from down under. Chuck I call Graham on my nickel (or that was about $50 US by the time I was done, but he saved me from spending many times that on a...

    ERA on eBay

Re: Someone buy it already or quit listing it! There was not a recent dyno run available for this car a few months ago. Non-stainless chassis. Narrow body. Good paint. A/C never charged. Suspension setup by a competent race shop but using spring rates higher than ERA recommends. Seller...
