    RF #12 "Race" Chassis

AlbanyGT40, Chris, does that mean that one can or can't swap from an 016 to 01e using the same adapter plate but different clutch etc ? David

Needed to move the GT40 out of the shop today in order to move the FFR onto the lift. Took the oppty to take some pictures of the GT with the new lower stance and with it all (mostly) one color. :) I really like how it looks now at this ride height! I have a friend that is going to...

Clayton, I was wondering about the Akerman as well just based on what I was seeing on my kit. I hadnt plugged anything into my susp program but I would have suspected the rack to be behind the wheel centerline, not in front... although I admittedly haven't spent much time researching...

    New 1966 gt40 kit available

I do like the integration of the C5 suspension bits. With that said, it kills the originality, which personally I like for these cars. As it sits, the chassis looks as though it would be very flexible due to limited triangulation. Totally agree with the comment regarding paneling the round...

Beautiful, your panel fitment is impeccable! Very nicely done Clayton. Would you be willing to post more pictures of the interior, motor and front etc... Its motivation for me and my RF build! David

Roaring Forties #36 Joe's Completion Log

Got several hours on the car this weekend. I was able to get 80% or so of the wiring laid out and in place. I was able to 'fix' all the issues with the wiring harness that Mark had identified. The good news is most of it was simply wiring loom that captured some circuits to far down certain...

Jim, thanks for the feedback, greatly appreciated. Do feel its not possible to clear ones head with a basic cage? Any guesstimates from you or anyone else on what type of clearance there would be? Any areas of particular concern? We had the same issue with the GTM I built where the...

Roaring Forties #36 Joe's Completion Log

Spent several hours going over the wiring manual and then laying out the main, dash and engine harness. Mark had mentioned that he/we were lucky enough to be the very last ones to get a harness that had some issues(remember this was when RF was under different ownership) with some wires not...

Hey Bill, Thanks for posting your thoughts! A friend of mine did something similar to this a few years back re the variable boost based on speed. It worked incredibly well. The controller worked with a toyota pump which changed the boost pressure. I suspect your implementation would be a...

Bill, very interesting... Hadn't run across those PS units. Cool installations! Are those available in any cars in the US, or at least easy to get in the US somehow? Dave, yes I read that article and it is very intriguing. I've spent some time on front suspension design and modeling so...

Will, Dave, Ian, Randy, thanks so much for the warm welcome, I really appreciate it very much! Dave, I will contact them re a base map. I just learned that I need another device to update the firmware on the ECU. Thats a bit frustrating honestly. I wonder if there is someone in my area...

Roaring Forties #36 Joe's Completion Log

So I suppose it’s time to say hello and introduce myself. :) Mark shot me a note not long ago asking me if I was interested in trading off my reasonably pristine 74 911S and some cash for his GT40 project. There is a bit of back story here... Many years ago, when I bid/bought the 911 in...
