As for the 70's, F111's aside they were a bit of a hard time in the oz military as there was a fairly substantial backlash from Vietnam. Labor governments are all the same.....

I'm not altogether sure about what you are saying in your email under the Brigade of Gurkhas thread. Please elaborate a bit for me - I'm a bit dense.
Actually, exchange service with the RAAF was an option for me in the 70's but I got married to a London girl and she wanted to be withing striking distance of her folks so I passed on it. Who knows, I might have settled as well.......
