What is it about the GT40 monocoque chassis?

OK sorry for the drift.... yes the GT40 tub should go down in history as the Rembrandt of chassie design. It looks as good naked as anything I have ever scene. But as beautiful as it is bare .... O my Gwad!! how good it looks with its clothes on!

What is it about the GT40 monocoque chassis?

Great question! I remember the first real GT40 I saw up close and personal. It was 1978 at the Chico Concours where I was showing a 63 black fuelie splitwindow corvette........ which at the time I thought was the ultimate ride. Oh I new what a GT 40 was Hell sakes I was saving my allowance in...

    Lola RCR T70 Spider Pictures

Fran, Let me compliment you .... having monitered some of your posts and produucts it appears you do beautiful work and create well engineered race car replicas at very fair prices and while I am sure you are well capable of producing fraudulent ''clones'' you have instead chosen to take the...

    Spraying inside of fibreglass

More important than the paint is preparing for the paint so it will stick. You need to find out from the manufacture what type of resin he used .... type ''a'' or ''B'' if the resin he used has wax in it... whatever you use won't stick without the proper prep. then after preping use a primer...

    Recent ERA builds

Fearsome, If you did a KMS car without assistance you'll be fine on the ERA. While I have never done one of their cars I have found over the years restoring original GT40 and Cobras the ERA guys are TOPS when it comes to customer service and support.

    Greetings and Questions

J6 , I hate to ''pile'' on a dead guy but once again I have to say your right. I will never forget Randy upon hearing that I had several original Lolas both T70 and T160 series offered to build me an authentic T70 Mk3B GT under license from Lola....... Ya Uhuh.....

    Painting steel and fiberglass

If you can find PPG DP40 I think you will have good results on both the steel( after etching) and the fiberglass. It is an epoxy and is designed to stick to both. It also works on bare aluminum after chemical etching. you can come back over it with PPG K36 or K38 as a filling primer. Be sure to...

    T70--1966?

The car pictured is a T70 Mk3b CanAm, probably chassis # 75/123 or 75/124 . the T70 M3b can am is not to be confused with the T70 Mk3B GT as the chassis were completly different. The T70 3B GT was actually patterned off the T162 chassis (or vice versa) . The 3B canAm was a lightened Mk3 chassis...

    Price increase for Superformance GT's

Lola built 5 continuation cars in 1979 as well T70Mk3B , all of which have been vintage raced in the US and abroad. And all of which I believe have been passed off by their owners at one time or another as cars built in 1969. At least 2 of them have run HMSA events including the highly coveted...

    Price increase for Superformance GT's

HiTech, I think one of the things people need to realize is that SPF went about this project in what appears to me as the ''right way''. i.e. going through the effort to license the building of the car through the legal holder of the name and copyright .... giving credit where credit is due...
