    Window/headlight cover material

Hi guys, I still make the headlight and running light covers (over 20 years now) out of crack proof plastic. I've made them for all replica makes and some original cars such as prototype GT103. Email me at: [email protected] so I can send photos and details. Also, feel free to call...

    Headlight covers

Hi Grzegorz, it depends on the depth of your recessed mounting flanges. The covers I make are 1/8" thickness. Thanks, Mark Clapp

    RCR GT40 REAR WINDOW

Neil is correct about using Lexan for the cockpit or engine cover windows if plastic is used. It is the only plastic that will take the heat of the engine and not deform. Hard-coated lexan (MR10 or Mar-Guard) is worth the extra cost for scratch resistance.

    Fasteners for plexiglass / laminate

When you use helicoils, the expanded coil (once threaded into the body) must be shorter than the body thickness. If any coils extend below the body, they will not be threaded and expanded within the body. This will cause the screws to bind. I used 0.207 inch coils. Also, once you have the...

    Chuck and Ryan's RCR Build

Chuck, sorry for the back-track, you might consider having your rear window/engine cover wrapped with an acrylic clear bra type wrap. I've even heard of ceramic wraps. Something that could be replaced more easily than the window plastic.

2017 Ford GT Sold at Barrett-Jackson Auction

Maybe some of you guys saw the 2017 Heritage Edition Ford GT (black No. 2 after 1966 Le Mans winner) sold for 1.4M plus fees. Very shrewd for the owner to double his money after the 2-year no sale contract with Ford was up. This makes me sad as I feel the application/vetting process by Ford...

    Calling Dan White!

Hi Guys, Dan (a machinist by trade) had plans to build moncoque GT40 replicas. I made several sets of light covers for him as he was stocking up on parts. I gave him the tip that my replica's windshield was from Pilkington in South Africa. Turns out they still made/make? them and were not...

    Street Driving

Just comes down to seat time. I've known guys that spent 5-7 years building a GT40 and then sold it a few months later as driving was too nerve-racking for them. I've had mine since 2000 and was also nervous at first. It is RHD and I just have two small original-style bullet mirrors. I am...

    More Global Cooling/Warming/Change hoax.

Hi Terry, not at all. Here are a few articles from a Google search I just did: https://www.bas.ac.uk/data/our-data/collections/geological-collections/fossils-from-the-antarctic/ https://news.nationalgeographic.com/2017/11/ancient-fossil-forest-found-antarctica-gondwana-spd/...

    More Global Cooling/Warming/Change hoax.

Do a search and you will find articles of fossils found recently in Antarctica that show it was a forest during the age of dinosaurs. This shows to me once again that we don't have a clue about climate change and all the money in the world can't buy off mother nature.
