Roy Smart - Rest In Peace my friend...

Hi again - now Roy's funeral has taken place, Andrew Fordyce and myself thought it right to post up a more fitting obituary, giving a small insight into Roy's life. I share it below for those who knew Roy, who had heard of Roy, or are just kindred spirits in the GT40 world. The photos are...

Roy Smart - Rest In Peace my friend...

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this post to inform you of the sad loss of Roy Smart on Saturday. Roy had been fighting cancer for the past few months but sadly lost the battle, quietly at home last weekend with his family. Words have been lost in my thoughts since hearing the news...

    Jokes anyone? -

Good to see this thread still thriving.... long may it continue.... Eileen and her husband Bob went for counseling after 25 years of marriage. When asked what the problem was, Eileen went into a passionate, painful tirade listing every problem they had ever had in the 25 years they had been...

Anyone out there still riding motorbikes.

Yep - still riding my 07 GSX1400... :) and picked up a pair of Yoshi ST1 Cams over Xmas so just need to fit them now. ;) Tried a friend's CBX1000 recently too - very smooth but felt very dated in the handling dept. Rear tyre seems tiny now in comparison with modern rides.

    engine / car identify? 1950s

'Sir Keith' - you never fail to brighten my day with your irreverent ramblings, long may it continue... As the question was not GT40 related, I figured this was the best place to ask, esp as it's where all the naughty people hang out so I knew I'd get an opinion or two... ps -...

Spot on Jac - just found a pic of something very similar. Google Image Result for http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r223/mattwizz3/Humber6.png Servo on the pic I posted must be a retro-fit.

    engine / car identify? 1950s

OK - just a quickie - can anyone identify the motor / vehicle shown below? I'm told 1950s, available in UK and Aus but have drawn a blank. 6 cyl - looked vaguely Austen Healey esque to me but never seen one with a single carb... Anyone.?? (ps - it's before my time...)

After a favour from someone located in Germany..

Hi all - I've been asked to install a Bosch Race ABS / TC system to a Porsche 997 GT3 track car but am getting very strange costings and lead-times from UK dealerships regarding parts. I know that Bosch are able to supply the parts direct to end user but am unable to contact a friendly...

    FE motor query

ok, engine is being rebored with lots of new 'lighter' bits like heads and manifold but I have another query and whilst probably obvious, someone will know for sure... Can we assume that the VIN plate below indicates a 3-speed auto transmission? (assuming it relates to the trans originally...
