G50/03 Side Cover - Need Stud Sizes

The size is 8 x 1.25. Your die isn't meant to be a gauge, so yes ... it will remove material from your stud. The only option to longer studs is counterboring each hole of the side cover (which probably should have been done by the manufacturer).

    Sequential gearbox question

The sequential shift lever has a "strain gauge" that senses the miniscule bend in the lever whenever a shift is made. This triggers engine managment to provide a short (0.08-second) ignition retard during clutchless shifting. The clutch is usually used for 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd upshifts, as well...

    Custom transaxle

Leon, I used to live in Titirangi, back when restrictive import duties fueled the DIY Kiwi attitude. One of my best mates (Terry Fitzgibbon) was from New Plymouth, one of the only towns where you could easily surf and ski/snowboard in the same day. I spent a couple days with Bob Denson...

    Custom transaxle

One more example of Kiwi ingenuity. Probably more inventors per capita than anywhere else in the world. What part of NZ ?

    New TRT Transaxle

I agree with most of what Scott says, but let me add possibly more than you wanted to know: In theory, helical gears should be stronger because their contact ratio is about 1/3 higher (approx 2.1 vs 1.35). In the real world of racing however, straight-cut gears are quite a bit stronger. This...

    Fitting a Limited Slip Diff.

TBD works well in autocross or mid engine cars ... but even with mid engine, the LSD is king for high speed track.

    Fitting a Limited Slip Diff.

Not everyone in the Porsche world thinks highly of ATBs ... which is probably why all Porsche pro teams use plate-style LSDs exclusively. Link deleted for whatever reason

    Unexplored Renault transaxles

The UN-5 transaxle looks very promising at first glance, but the shaft center-to-center measurement is so small that the gear strength just isn't there. Those Albins aftermarket gears are failing in short order in off road cars.

    G50 LSD price

Well, you'd have no satisfaction from that particular LSD. It may physically fit the G50/03, but it's originally from an '89-'91 964 AWD, with the lock-up externally controlled by a rod through the 964's cover plate.

    That's about right.

    Ricardo fluid recommendations

I think Ricardo also recommends Castrol LSX90 .. ? Sounds like an open diff (or very worn LSD), Jason. I don't think Ricardo offers TBDs.
