ERA GT Fuel Safe foam R&R

I am going through ERA #2077 (ex-Jim Holden) and have come to the fuel cells. The fuel cells are at least 14 years old and the foam is disintegrating and collecting in the filters. These fuel cells are HDPE blow molded plastic, unique to the ERA application. They ride in an aluminum tray, which...

SPF P2306 Fuel Pump Configuration Question

Ron, this is where I think I am headed. I did get hold of Dennis this am and he confirms what you said about the swirl pot. The pumps are not additive because the swirl pot is also dumping into the 0 psi tank return. But he thinks pump 2 is a 7 psi pump and he's mystified as to why it is making...

SPF P2306 Fuel Pump Configuration Question

Rick, yes, I intend to call Dennis and pick his brain this week. But I usually learn a lot from the other owners on this forum so I thought I'd ask. Just read the stiff throttle cable thread above ... been fooling with that for months

SPF P2306 Fuel Pump Configuration Question

Thank you Neil. What do you think about the tank return from the swirl tank, as opposed to the end of the fuel log? Should I plumb around the spare pump, or will it pass fuel freely? Sam

SPF P2306 Fuel Pump Configuration Question

Maybe this will be an easy answer ... I came from CAV to SPF and I am accustomed to dual fuel pumps. But ... 2306 has me confused. It has two Carter bulkhead mount electric pumps in series pulling from the left tank. One is in the left sill pocket and one is on the firewall. There is only a -12...

There are no holes in the body. 3M tape underside of the body to stick it, and...

    Superformance Alternator Help

Ron, maybe you have done this already, but - small ground back to the regulator is not sufficient by itself. Check that there is a good ground path from the alternator case to the engine block, and a heavy cable from the block to the batt neg post. Good luck! Sam

Ford GT and GT40s at Mecum Monterey

Dave, the SPF MkI P2359 bid closed at $150K and went to "Bid Goes On" status. We don't know if it sold later. But when you add the buyer's premium, transportation, taxes, it would be getting too close to retail to go for much more than that. The Shelby MkII was a steal (I thought it was...

SPF MkI - A/C Condensate Drain or What?

Dave, your advice was on the money :) I used some 2-part Loctite Superglue specifically for bonding plastic. It needs to set up overnight. I'll wiggle it tomorrow to see if it stuck. If not, I'll use a brass hose barb and thread it in ... Many thanks! Sam
