    Fillmore’s RCR Mk1 GT40

Today I finished mounting the shifter and routing the cables to the Quaife QBE62G transaxle. The challenge was getting the RCR provided shifter to clear the e-brake. The solution was to mount the shifter box on a slight angle. You cannot bolt into the tunnel due to coolant and A/C hose...

    RCR GT40 Cinderella in France

Welcome Jean-Marc! I live and work near RCR in Detroit. And my buddy from France, Francis Rolland, is helping me with the build. We are both engineers that work in automotive business here, so if you ever have questions, please don't hesitate. Your car must be an older version...the rear...

    Coyote Aluminum Cam Covers

I discovered a gem that I need to share with GT40 builders that are using a 5.0L Coyote engines. Ford Performance makes a sells a die cast aluminum cam covers for around $300 per pair. Have been considering the aftermarket billet options to help mitigate heat from bundle of snakes, but they...

    Columbus Ohio RCR40

Anyone can get 3D cad for almost any GM engine if you're a SEMA member. If you give me your email, I can send a link for a step file you can download. Once you are able to open the engine file and manipulate, I can explain how to design headers using purchased mandrel bends.

    Fillmore’s RCR Mk1 GT40

Forgot to put the pilot bearing in, so pulled the engine today. This heavy transaxle was much easier to align w/o it! Had to pick up a low-profile trans jack at Harbor Freight, because using the cherry-picker or balancing on a floor jack wasn't working. Anyway, finally got it together.

Nick, do you use cad? I designed and built my headers in cad. Then I plotted full scale templates. Bought all needed stainless bends, cut on band saw, and welded together. Worked perfectly. I have the cad for your engine, if interested.

    Fillmore’s RCR Mk1 GT40

Welp, its been 3 years since my last post. After my wife passed, I started spending winters in Scottsdale AZ to be closer to my daughters. I worked on the car mostly in the winters, so not much happened last couple years. I promised Chris a committed effort to finish the GT in 2024. January...

    Paul's RCR GT40 build

Ok that make sense given the location of the radiator in this car. Where did you learn and is it necessary? At speed wouldn't just find its way thru fan, maybe at the expense of a little aero or downforce loss? BTW been following your build posts and have more questions. I've been working...

    Paul's RCR GT40 build

Thanks for the quick reply! My solution is to add something like this to drain the system, where it exits the chassis near the engine. Thoughts? I also need to make a fan shroud. Can I ask why you put, what appear to be decorative slots in it?

    Paul's RCR GT40 build

I noticed that you changed the RCR radiator. I been contemplating this because I've never seen both inlet and outlet on the bottom and not sure how to drain the system without making a mess.

RCR GT40 shifter connection to Trans

We recently changed our trans from the RBT to a Quaife QBE62G 5-Speed. Can anyone shed some light on what is needed to hook up the RCR GT40 shifter box to this transmission? I'm assuming we need different brackets, linkage or maybe a different shifter box? Haven't been able to get ahold of...

    O2 Sensor Location?

We have designed and ordered all the material to fabricate the headers for the Coyote. My question is…how sensitive is the O2 sensor signal, relative to the adjacent bend? For wire routing I would really like to position them after the collector, but we have a bend an inch beyond the bung...
