Found a serial No 73GB11000AA on the motor....popped it into google turns out to be a 3L Capri/Ganny.
Replacement high torque version from Powerlight is a RAC407......happy days

Yep there will be a few more Q plates....there was a GT40 on ebay a few months ago and the dealer stated it was registered on a 67 Ford Coupe and offered to put a Q plate to be legitimate.....still wanted £70k

The Q plate make no different to the insurance so it is down to perception and myth...strangely, its is an age thing.. people over 40 in the UK tend to remember the Q plates being on the bastard built vehicle from scrap yard parts....nowadays, this just isn't practical which is why we see Toyota...
I wouldn't be put off by a Q plate....remember that a GT40 race car we all aspire to, wouldn't of had a registration on it in the first place.
