Agreed....which is why I would not recommend going down to 160 t-stat. I doubt that would even get you into closed-loop operation...the engine would be constantly running in "warm-up" mode.

If this is a crate engine ECU.....as I understand it....there are no provisions for an "AC on" signal. Therefore, there is no way for the ECU to anticipate the additional load of the AC compressor when coming to idle and it has no way to compensate to prevent stalling.

What are you trying to connect with?.....have you tried the scan tool on a different vehicle to make sure it's not the scan tool? If the scan tool works but won't connect to the LS ECU, I would contact GMPP thru the paperwork that came with the engine and see what they have to say....this...

I'm guessing the biggest hurdle will be the electronics. The transaxle operation is going to be tied directly to engine function.....and my guess is that the only way to get it to work would be to have the ENTIRE electrical system from a C8.....or wait for GM to come out with a crate...
