Mind it was a question I will be asking soon so I will watch the thread!!
I tried Iridium for example in my quad bike, bit low level compared to the 40 but it did seem to help the start?

What part of the world do you live in, what fuel is at hand, what is the comp. ratio how do you want to drive the car. Just some of the factors. spend some time looking at heat ranges and apply to the factors/ questions you have answers to in order to decide.

forgot the pictures....

Edelbrock usually give plug type & heat range data in box, you can cross reference from that info to whatever brands you can purchase in UK . Be aware that some brands reverse the number sequence from hot to cold.

( what size socket do you use on your plugs ) if it's a 5/8 try and use the equivalent to an AF32. such as NGK 2710. Have a look at Ford number BF32, for the bigger plug. Old Motorcraft numbers that will do just fine. ( the red and white box with a GT40 on it) It's one step to the hot side from a stock factory install. In the old school stuff with unleaded gas was a pain in the ass at higher comp ratio. It's the one thing that's good to know

AF32 & BF32 are for cast iron heads, OE production. John has Edelbrock heads which are 14mm threads x 0.750" thread length ( less ~ 0.040" with washer ) they use a flat washer (NOT taper seat ). Ive found you need to verify plug fit in cyl heads prior to assy as you do not want exposed threads from either plug or cyl head-[Detonation invitation].

Edelbrock Performer RPM heads and inlet manifold, regular fuel, 302ci SBF.
I have used NGK BCPR6ES for over10 years with no problems. Easy to get and cheap on Ebay.
NGK part number key attached for info.

Cheers
Mike
