Where and when?

This photo turned up on a Facebook group thread and I am interested in any information anyone can provide.
Strange it has two number plates.

I presume original and in period and in the U.K. by the cars in the shot but the poster does not know any more.

So come on sleuths tell me more

James,
Could those vents have been original, or you think lost and replaced with these later?

I like the look of these better than the eyeball vents from the Zephyr.

Hi Ian,
I believe that is the back corner of the FAV factory, Slough. The lower number plate I think is a trade plate.
For our American viewers, 'trade plates' in the UK are plates used by dealers to drive an otherwise unlicensed or taxed vehicle on the road. (The other number plate should have been covered.)

Steve,
Here is an original press photo of an early road car outside the Slough factory. (P/1021)
The architecture is the same. (50's post war with Crittall windows).
Check out those rear wire mesh grilles Ron, I think that they compliment the Borrani wheels really well.

Indeed the original FAV factory building is still there, you can see it on google street view.

The old Lola building, which was a couple of roads away is long gone though. (That was the one that was briefly used by FAV before the Banbury Avenue one was ready & in later years was used by Ford Personal Import/Export.)
