Michael's GT-R Build

That looks great and is probably better for the air coming out of the tank as the fuel travels in. Everything is nicely laid out. The only thing I would change is the hose clamps for the heat shrink sleeve type.

I like the power grip clamps as well, but they get expensive changing them out if you are not 100% positive you are in your final layout. I also prefer to use a T-bar like in the picture on the radiator itself since those are the most likely two to get undone. Those T-bar are way better than the worm gears and shouldn’t leak.

Mike here is what I have so far on the gas fill neck

You ran yours just like I did. I think the angle is better than the 90 degree pattern. The angle should help with filling the tank. Don't forget to put the check valve in the filler pipe some where as the fuel will go up and out under hard braking. I bought a 1-1/2" surge protector from Perko #0635 and it goes inside the 1-1/2" hose. You could cut the hard line after the 90 at the tank and use a piece of hose and place the surge protector there.

I stuck that check valve in the 1 1/2" elbow coming out of the tank. Had to look up what it was for, and once I did, put it in!

Can you Guys confirm the hose attachment bung at the front of the tank for fuel filling is 1 1/2"? I haven't ordered my GT-R yet due to the current exchange rate but wanted to start collecting some parts in advance. I wrongly assumed it was gonna be 2" like the SLC.

Mine is 2". I expect that they all are, and the 1 1/2" comments just propagated along after someone mistakenly wrote it that way.

Hello Folks; I need to purchase new springs to accommodate the Ramlift Pro I just purchased (and received). Currently, I have 7" springs (I think 650lb, not positive, so 7HT650) that came with the car. Interestingly, RCR put two different springs on my front - one is high travel, and the other standard. You can see an obvious difference! Geez...

Anyway, I would like to know what spring length (and source - QA1 or another Mfg) is preferred with the Ramlift. I don't think the current springs will work - they will probably not compress enough to let the ram do much lifting, as I did assembly them and could barely do so without a spring compressor. So Rufus, Kurtiss, H, etc. what spring did you use with the lift? (Front only). My shocks are whatever was sent with the car. DD401 I think.

Thanks for the advice.

Alan, if you anticipate having to remove a component, put a Gates PowerBand on one end and a T-band clamp on the other (most accessible) end.
