Mark the LS engines don't use a vacuum referenced fuel regulator so the vacuum port should be left open (I noticed you had it plugged). It also states that fact in the aeromotive literature.

Good Eye, Ken -- yes I left it plugged for now since I've been doing a lot of cutting metal and fiberglass on and near the car.

Can you tell me what vehicle the emissions charcoal canister was sourced from? If it's a sealed canister then you are creating a vacuum in your tank with the way you have it hooked up to the air intake. The charcoal gets saturated with fuel and needs to be purged occasionally but I think having it draw air constantly might be problematic as your fuel tank empties.

It's this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C9I9GQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's a 3-line canister (tank, open air vent, purge). I have the purge line going to the intake pipe, but since it's before the throttlebody, the vacuum is pretty light so while it won't purge the can as well, it also won't be under intake manifold vacuum. If anyone has better setups for this I'm all ears -- this was the best my research could find to have at least something without going to a full setup with a purge solenoid.
Thanks!

I got one of these Mark -

Coupled with a roll-over valve. This system allows the tank to vent to atmosphere and doesn't require a vacuum source. I haven't hooked it up yet to see how effective it is at catching fumes but it seemed to be the go-to thing before they had their recall.

Mark, I'm using the same fuel pump inertia switch as you and I'm pretty sure it must be mounted facing up. You have it facing back (towards the driver). In that position it won't react to an impact from the front (the force of the impact will keep the ball in the cup instead of dislodging it and breaking the circuit).
Install instructions paragraph #1. (vertical mounting)

I Installed a front tow hook and got the wiper motor installed. For the tow hook, I made a bracket out of 1/4" steel that bolts to the monocoque with 6 3/8 bolts and backing plates. It has a 3/4" nut welded to it so a 3/4' x 1.5" ID eye screws in to it. When not in use, I'll either cap it with a blank cover or thread a painted allen bolt in to cover the hole.
I also decided to add some leg vents by drilling a few 1.5" holes under the front part of the "anchor." You can see the anchor mount traced in to the chassis in black marker in the pics below.

Just posted a new video with the dash hooked up and buttons / lights working. The AIM MXP (6" version of the AIM dash) fits perfectly with just a little trimming in the dash. Programming wasn't too bad, but I need to figure out if the headights / brights indicators are working correctly. I don't have the headlights hooked up yet, so I just tapped in to the infinitybox light outputs for the AIM inputs.

I have the AIM hooked up to the GM Perf LS7 ECM along with some analog inputs:

ECM Inputs (using the AIM GM C7 config since it supports vehicle speed and the AIM GMPP one does not) :
- RPM
- Throttle Position
- Vehicle Speed (I have a GM speed sensor hooked up with a ABS tone ring on the CV joint of my axle with the tune adjusted to correct the speed)
- Coolant Temp
- Intake Air Temp
- Oil Pressure
- Check Engine Light

Analog Inputs:
- Left Turn
- Right Turn
- Headlights
- Brights
- Parking Lights
- Oil Temp (installed a GM oil temp sensor in to my remote oil filter housing)
- Fuel Level (with a cheap resistance to voltage converter)

Nice, looks great! Adding an interior light is on my to-do, I wish I’d done the legwork to find an acceptable dome light before I closed the ceiling panel up.

I’m surprised the larger unit fits in the binnacle so well, that’s awesome! I’d have done the larger screen if I knew it would have worked. The display I like best is the single large circular tach with speed in digital numbers right in the middle, with temps along the right side. I think Aim has added a screen or two since I last programmed my unit.

Are you using the GPS08 for speed?

Thanks Mason and Cam!
Cam, yea I did have to trim the inside / top of the binnacle, but since it's on the inside, you don't really see the trimmed area once it's installed. I think once I cover the dash it will be just fine. I set up a few different screens, I figure I'll try several out until I land on my favorite. I'll have to look for the one you mentioned, I don't recall seeing that one.

For speed, I installed a GM speed sensor to read an ABS sensor ring on my half-shaft CV joint. It's wired in to the GM LS7 ECM with the tune adjusted to correct the speed pulses. On the dyno and quick run around the block it appears to be working well.

So we're on the road from Redmond, Washington to Austin, Texas! I decided to trailer the SLC rather than have it hauled along with my wife's car. It looks like complete crap with packing tape holding the windows on (I gave up on a miserable attempt to tie a car cover down on it to protect it). I can't believe all the positive comments and questions even it it's sorry state. Apparently it's a Lotus, a McClaren, and a Ford GT so far :)

We're half way there staying in Price, Utah -- beautiful state!

Only downside is the build is on pause for a couple months while we stay in a rental house until we find a permanent house and close.

Safe travels Mark! We’re about to make a similar journey, going from San Diego to Denver. I’ll be taking the southern route to avoid going through the taller part of the Rockies.

Thanks Cam! Hope you have a good and safe trip as well!

We made it in last night -(about 2100 miles total)- overall pretty uneventful with the exception of a crazy hail storm literally 1 hour before we arrived in Austin. Hail was golf balI sized and ended up with several dents in my SUV. I kept looking in the mirror expecting the SLC windshield to crack, but it looks OK.

We're staying in a small rental for now until we find a permanent garage with a house attached :) Looks like my only SLC project for the next couple of months will be removing all the damn packing tape I had to use on the car :(

Well it's been a while since my last update. Not much new to report since we've been getting settled in Austin, new house, job, kids remote-learning, blah blah blah. :) My biggest accomplishment is finally getting all of the packing tape residue off with Goof Off, a spray bottle, plastic scraper, and lots of paper towel. So far that was by far my least favorite project -- made much worse by procrastinating 4 years!
One of the nice things about living in Austin is I now have a live-in garage helper. He can't lift much, but he really likes the car. So far he's more helpful than my kids...

Mark, Welcome to the great state of Texas. I am in New Braunfels about an hour south of you down I35. PM me for contact info should you need help or just want to have a beer. I have a track-only SLC (complete and nearly done with 1st round of development) and a GT40 (road use).

Hey Howard, thanks! Not sure if you recall we met briefly at COTA right after you lost your oil line (your car was already packed back up by the time I got there). It would definitely be great to catch up at the track some time. I'll let you know once I get mine to a 'track test' state. I'm planning to take it to one of the smaller/cheaper tracks to start working the bugs out.

Oh ya, I was a bit distracted that day. I looking forward to getting together for a chat and a beer. Maybe I could come up to Austin once you are settled in a bit. I'm retired, every day is Saturday, so it might be easier on your schedule if you let me know what would work best for you. I just sent you my contact info via the conversation feature.
