Engine Blue Paint

Advice please. I have spoken to Frosts this morning inquiring about engine paint.
They have 2 products that appear to fit the bill :

Eastwood Ceramic Engine Paint Ford Dark Blue 66-80 (946ml)
and
POR15 Ford Corporate Blue Engine Enamel Paint (473ml)

Has any of you used either of these or can anyone suggest an alternative bearing in mind I am in the UK ?

Thanks, regards, Peter.

In 65 Ford used black on the 289.My 65 Griffith 200 had a black engine(Griffiths used Fairlane engines) as did my 641/2 Mustang. There were some red Marine and industrial engines also. Some of those ended up in Griffiths

Peter,

Try Caswell Europe, at one time they imported Dupli Color here in the UK and ask if they have some old stock aerosols left for Ford Blue code (DE-1606).
I did buy a lot of cans from them years ago and I checked this morning but only have a lighter Ford Blue remaining. (DE-1601).
You are welcomed to some of these if you want.

Hi James, Thanks for the offer, but I am going for the darker colour, I will see what I can find.

Thanks , Best wishes.

Another easy option is to use Ford (Ford, not New Holland) tractor blue. Heavy duty enamel that was sprayed on the whole tractor, so it's tough stuff when sourced from a decent paint company. It's usually on the shelf at tractor dealers like Ernest Doe & Sons Ltd.
I used it with great success on my wives '66 Mustang.

I recently made this purchase for the engine in my 33 Ford. While I’ve not yet used it myself, it came highly recommended and has really good reviews...

some interesting colors there

Hi Steve, I have an old Ford Tractor so that idea had crossed my mind. My reservation would be can it with stand the heat of a race engine, tractors run very cool in comparison? Thanks, Peter.

@pjbs looks like a few places selling the VHT stuff in the UK

ebay VHT ford competition blue SP755

The SP755 is supposedly the color of the cap in my photo above in the previous post. Seems brighter in the photos below. Looks like the ford dark blue (SP125) may be darker again.
VHT do a few colors that are Ford specific.
