Added disconnects for my tail lights in case I ever have to remove the rear panel.
Going to remove the rear panel for mesh install. To make it look cleaner, fit tighter.
Made an engine floor close-out panel.

Put a heat shield over the starter. Hope to eliminate heat soak and locking up.

Took the rear panel and deck lid off today. Going to bond in some tabs for mesh. Cleaned up the wiring for the rear so the panels can be unplugged and removed easily. Epoxied in front signals. Need to paint the inside of the side pods this week and figure out how to secure mesh in there. Will likely mix some thick epoxy and glue it all up. Pics to follow. It feels like a big step back taking so much of the car apart, but it gets so much easier doing tit the 2nd, 3rd, 10th time. :D

Got the mesh done on the rear as well as re-did wiring. I have the rear panel now easily removable with a pair of 4 wire trailer harnesses and 2 bullet connectors. Added the rear lid mesh. Will ask H to add the rear glass.

Front mesh easier than expected. Had flat surfaces for drilling and rivnuts.

Could not adjust my speedhut gauges for the warning lights. They have 2 ports in the back. Easy fix- it is the other port.

Running smoothly. Mostly done except for body, paint, trim. Even able to modify passenger seat for my 6'3" buddy so he can sit in with a helmet and only scrunch down a little.

Better check your local laws... Blue lights are an instant ticket if caught around here in Minnesota...

Taking a little time off. MT tag update: IVN check cleared, now awaiting MSRP from RCR to figure out tax implications. I believe if over $150k, MT takes taxes before they issue. Glad I am around $75k. Hopefully in 3 more weeks. At this point I only need to charge the AC and leak test. Then rubber trim for doors, body/paint. Then glass and window install. Then H for the front hook through the front fascia over the splitter like he did for Jared's car (amazing modification if you have H level skills).

So I was getting ready to load the car on my Kwik Load trailer 3 weeks ago. Got a new weight distributing hitch to try out. Hooking up the trailer was not as easy as expected and sometimes we make mistakes.

And now the NSFW version. Do not click and open unless you really have to. Suffice it to say I am not going to be in shape for the Charleston Marathon 1/6/21. I did run a half marathon the night before this injury. Hoping to be able to get on a recumbent bike by next week.

I couldn't help myself and opened it on my big monitor. I immediately regretted it. Thats horrible. Feet take so long to heal. Hoping you heal well and soon. Bummer! I don't want to even think of how much that hurt. Car is coming along nicely.

Been there, done that, 'bought the T-shirt...so, I truly DO "feel your pain".
Hang in there. As the expression goes; 'this too shall pass.'

I feel your pain Steven. I was on a hay ride when I was younger. My foot got tangled into one of the tires on the wagon. The tire grabbed my shoe and sucked it down the the road. It slowly ground the end of my foot off. It took the doctors a week to debone what was left of my toes. They wrapped them back around to the top of my foot, and sewed them on and then filled the rest of the foot with a skin graft. I was left with a very small piece of my big toe which helps with my balance.. It looks very strange, but I can walk. Give it some time, and I'm confident it will heal nicely.

Best of luck.

No update on car. Toe healing so I can ride recumbent and walk. Can drive car.
Still need to get with H for some finishing touches. Big news is license plate getting mailed.

Getting final (hopefully) prep done before paint. Lucky to have H-Craft nearby to mount glass and do the special touches (fix my mistakes).

8 hex head screws to hold side windows in place. Removable easily.

And he is doing a couple other things.

Car is for track use and C&O. Interior is seats and harnesses. No gadgets, no comforts other than phone holder mounted to roll bar for OBD2 feedback. Almost time for prep and paint. Or plastidip, or wrap?

Suggestions? Want it to look nice but not concours. It will be on track with hot tires. Want to keep a bright blue and tangerine and add the stripes. Single stripe, dual? White or tangerine?

Sorry Steve, I don’t have suggestions on the paint. But, what are your plans for the Lola T70 in the background, if you don’t mind me asking?

Car has been getting some little stuff done with H. New front tow hook in center of air dam.
Glass rear windshield and windshield install. AC charged. Side windows removable and installed. Working kill switch. Gurney flapped.

I hated the Speedway turn signal I had mounted to the roll bar. It was plastic junk, but it worked (except hazard switch- such a POS it worked occasionally). Went with Signal dynamics motorcycle switch and some Amazon momentary buttons. Much better and all works well.

Steve,

How about turning that into a gulf livery scheme but with your colors?
Would look pretty slick I think.

I will do white stripes with tangerine borders. More like the 2017 GT. I don't like when the white goes into the hood cutouts.

To do list:

Small AC leak at compressor low pressure line. Recrimped it and will try some more R134. If still leaking will cut and get new fitting. AC is really cold otherwise. Chased down the electrical problem for 4 hours before testing the trinary switch. It works and will not turn on if there is no R134.

Need to adjust door latches for better opening. They close and shut solid.

Ran around town for 1 hour total driving yesterday. Did some back to back runs with my Tesla P100d. Tesla will be easier to get off the line. GT-R catches up pretty quick and faster 40-90.

Body and paint as soon as I make sure all fluids are staying where they belong.
