SLC G96/01 Clutch

I am looking for a new clutch for my SLC .The clutch on mine feels like it's slipping .I have read Kevlar clutch will last longer in street and high traffic use. Clutch slipping on only 500miles ?? I am the 3rd owner. I'm not sure if the dash cluster was installed much later therefore the odometers not correct?

If you’re pushing 500HP the regular clutch doesn’t last as long. Kevlar is better.*

Side question - how do you like the G96 gearing? Looking for a transaxle and exploring options.

*I don’t own a car yet, but all my research says to go kevlar, so that’s what I’ll be installing.

I am very happy with the gearing but unfortunately was not able to enjoy it much .I am looking forward to getting it swapped out for a Kevlar clutch. The only question I have is do I need to modify the store bought clutch or pressure plate ?

Will a stock G96/ 01 clutch bolt up without any modifications and where is the best place to order one .Any help will be appropriated .

I can’t see how the clutch could be slipping with only 500miles unless whoever you bought the car from before had zero idea what they were doing. I would start by pulling the trans and taking a look at everything. Clean the flywheel, see if the clutch discs are worn down, etc. you can source a new Oem set from rock auto for like 350, here is the part number K7024601

Well here she is

This is the clutch I ended up going with, It is very inexpensive . My first time swapping out the clutch on the SLC . It feels great to be back in it again and the clutch feels amazing!!

Looks good! Since you’ve had a full run with this tranny. What kind of RPM are you running at 70mph in 6?
