Covid19 vaccine- report your progress

Well, I’m 66 and in poor overall health. I’m in the US and in Michigan where we have one of the highest cases. I have heart issues and breathing issues. BUT, I still work 7 days a week, between 60-80 hours a week. Covid is not going to kill me, but work might. I’ve been there over 40 years and have worked 6-7 days for a good part of it. I am scheduled for a knee replacement at the end of the month, so if I’m going to get sick I’m sure it will be when I’m off and inactive.
I had the Johnson first shot and the Johnson booster. I had zero issues either time. I took my 95 year old mother with me and she had zero issues also.
Regards Brian
A thought on the knee replacement.I had my left shoulder replaced 3 yrs ago. Im only sorry that I put it off for so long.I had 50% range before the replacement and constant pain.I did the physical therapy at the VA and they were GREAT.I did the whole course and ended up with 97% range and zero pain Im 72 today and spent my life commercial fishing.Health is ok for my age. I have never stopped working and will keep going till I drop.
Had with 3 shots of Moderna. Besides a sore arm and a little malaise for a day or so on the second all went well. Best thing no covid.

Happy Birthday Don. Thanks for the info. I fell twice the same day in May of 2019 because my knee gave out severely damaging my left shoulder. Because of Covid I could not get into see a doctor. By September, I had about 20% use and was finally able to get in. Surgery was scheduled right away to repair the damage. I had torn the bicep off, the tendon off, broke the rotator cuff in 2 places and broke the shoulder bone. They ended up cutting 3/4” off the bone and reattaching everything else. After 12 weeks of extreme pain during therapy néw tests were ordered. Everything had failed and another complete surgery was done. I’m happy to say I have about 80% use again. Now I’m repairing what caused the whole thing. When this one is done I I’ll get the other done. If I can avoid getting Covid that would be great. The hospital will not operate until you are fully vaccinated.
On another note, my nieces ex husband refused to get vaccinated. He contacted Covid and ended up on a ventilator. They pulled the plug on him Christmas night.
Bottom line, just get vaccinated. If not for you, do it for the people around you.

Just my thoughts. I’m sure others will vary.

Regards Brian

Hi James,

Sorry to hear of your issues with the second jab, I don't know if you sought advice at the time, I think I would have done. The main thing is you soon got over it, although the problems you had did sound a bit worrying.

I think three jabs of the same vaccine is relatively common, my wife had 3 Pfizer jabs. (with no problems).

Regards Steve
Hi Steve yes I did call 111 for advice was told yep they were side effects and that was it. Seems common among my age group however doesn't seem to be documented. Thankfully I think it's worked as I ha dmy booster and feel absolutely fine today. Yesterday I was a bit lathargic and tired. Compared to my response to the second jab is enough to convince me I have protection and my body is able to fight it. Modern medicine really is fantastic.

Good grief, Brian! I thought I had really screwed up!
I fell two stories feet-first onto concrete and broke a number of 'body parts'. 'Was airlifted to a trauma center 100 miles away, had one session on the operating table (albeit 6.5+ hours long) followed by 2-3 months of rest & rehab and I was pretty much done with all the drama.
Once in a while I still "send missiles to Russia" when going thru security at an airport...but, other than that and not being able to "run" (as if I'd WANT TO these days!), I'm back to about 95%.

Excuse me while I now take a moment to thank my lucky stars - AGAIN!

(Are we a couple of klutzes, or what? Sheeeeeze... )

It's not well publicised but there is a UK 'side effect monitoring system' The Yellow Card.

I was reluctant to get the vaccine due to how quickly they rolled it out. I waited a long time before getting it to see if people were going to have bad side effects from it. I got my second shot back in October and had no side effects from either shot, not even a sore arm.

I tested Positive for Covid on Saturday, thankfully it hasn't been much more than a bad cold so far. I am starting to feel a bit better today. I am sure the reason I didn't get too sick is due to having the vaccine. My wife has taken the third shot and she didnt get sick at all even though im sure I would have passed it to her.

Regard,

Sean

I understand that I probably won't change any minds with this, but one of the really bad pieces of fakery running around is that mRNA is some kind of new tech that they whipped up in the space of a year. mRNA research has a LONG history and it's been tested to deliver medication as far back as 1975 or so. It was even used against the ebola virus. It really started hitting the mainstream in the mid '00s.

The damage done by the FUD generated when those that sought to gain either in popularity, press, or just getting clicks on the internet by pushing the idea that these couldn't be trusted because they were "hastily made" is counted in lives lost. Yeah, I had my own doubts, I didn't want to get it too soon. But I work in an industry where I'm all over the country and come across too many peope from all over the world, too. I couldn't realistically wait with family who have asthma and elderly aprents. there was (is still) a boatload of BS being pushed about the vaccine, but here we all still are, not really any worse off than taking any other vaccine. The gamble of vaccine vs getting covid is a shitty game of roulette, and is a false comparison based on bad vs worse when any half-assed risk assessment would easily paint getting vaccinated (for any normal reason, too) as a no-brainer. It's uncomfortable for a few days vs gambling with possible death.

Going to revive this thread with a question. Those of you that have now been vaccinated and contracted covid - how was your reaction. Now I got it a week ago and felt lathargic and feverish on day 0. Day 1 really sore pelvic area. Felt like I was giving birth. After that Completly fine. Clear within 5 days. My reaction to the 2nd moderna jab was worse than my reaction to covid. So that's reassuring.

Can confirm.

Got it in Feb while traveling to Phoenix, but the wife didn't (both vax'd and boosted). She went home while I quarantined for 5 days by myself (was the right thing to do). Felt crappy on Sat morning. "Fever" of ~100° for ~1.5 days, sore throat for ~3. Did a lot of sleeping, but could have been from boredom as well. Hiked around South Mountain on Weds (17 miles, ~1200' elevation gain) before flying home Thurs. Yeah, I think I was better by then.

I really hope you all have been reading reports and not just ones pushed by CNN, or posts twitters team of researchers and doctors deem appropriate and not misinformation or lies lol, or governments. I hope you've been reading the pfizer released documents they tried to wait 75 years to make public. This shot for kids is even worse. Research remdesivir too because there's studies showing how bad it can be but we give it like candy.

Not going to debate this but I'm just hoping you're looking in other places for info outside of the news and government. This was never about public health and concern for your safety. To make a point Jeff made a few posts up about mRNA, one of the creators of mRNA Dr. Robert Malone is actively preaching out against its use.

Triple vaccinated, tested positive three days ago.
Effect on me and family who also tested positive - almost better after three days, just a cold really.

Tim.

Make sure you research thoroughly. Social media and rumour is best. Remember this makes you a expert, and better qualified than the conspiratorial medical establishment..

geez…

I had the second booster (Pfizer) a week ago - slightly sore arm for 3 days, otherwise no problems. That makes 4 jabs now - one Astra Zeneca and three Pfizer. Not had Covid - yet!
Cheers
Mike

Hi Matt,

My other place for "info outside of the news and government", would be (at the risk of boring people by mentioning it yet again) our 2 children who both work as paramedics in the NHS. So I have first hand experience from them, including what it was like on the front line before and after the vaccine. Their experiences make me (and them) extremely grateful we and others were all fully vaccinated.

I can also confirm since being double vaccinated and having had the booster that up to now, I have also had no serious desire to buy any Microsoft shares. Although I do posses some tendency on occasions to sound like a smartarse even to myself, but some say I had that pre covid ;)

Tell them thanks for their hardwork! I've worked in 3 different hospitals during this entire thing most recently in ERs. Covid is real, but the shot is not the answer IMO. If the government mandates you, there is a reason and everyone should have questioned that reason. But apparently questions make you conspiracy theorist haha

Although I'm a strong believer in vaccinations, I would like to share my own recent experiences. I would preface this by saying that my observations are only based on circumstantial evidence, but by putting them on a forum, if others have experienced something similar then data points are always useful.
In January, I had a booster (3rd) shot. My first 2 shots were Pfizer whereas this was Moderna. Reaction to the first 2 was minimal, just a sore arm whereas my reaction to the Moderna vaccine was very different; headache, fever, wiped out for a day and a half, a strong response.
In Feb, I cut my thumb very slightly. After about a week when it still wasn't healing I went to the doctor to make sure it wasn't infected. He assured me it was ok but prescribed anti-bacterial cream to be on the safe side. Over the next week I was alarmed to find that skin was started to peel from my fingers, first on the same hand then spreading to the fingers (and thumb) on my other hand. When I revisited my doctor, he confirmed it was psoriasis, an autoimmune disease with no known cure. I asked him if it could have been triggered by the vaccine, as the two events were only separated by a few weeks. He said he wasn't aware of any specific evidence of a connection but didn't rule it out.

In a possibly related case, my son developed a very rare autoimmune disease called ITP about 15 years ago shortly after a bout of 'flu.

Although this is purely my own conjecture, I'm now wondering if something that causes the immune system to react (either a vaccine or a virus) can trigger autoimmune diseases in some people. I think it will be an area of study for the medical community over the next few years.

There is actually evidence that suggests these shots amplify autoimmune disorders. Nurse I work with same problem. Hers was controlled and after all the shots its out of control. Family member same thing. I have no idea the science but I'll find the studies showing it amplifies it. I forget but I want to say this was also mentioned in the pfizer data that was released as a side effect, increase in auto immune disorders.
In your sons case, maybe it is a potential cause that viruses alike may bring forward. I know pregnant women exposed to viruses (unsure if exact ones) pose a greater risk of schizophrenia etc doesn't mean all viruses but there has been a correlation between the two
