It’s been awhile since I posted. My car is still at the paint shop and may be there for another two months to complete the show quality mods and paint. After paint, I’ll bring it home and reinstall the wiring, lights, grills, windows, etc. Should look like the photo except I’m going to leave the numbers off for now. The anticipation is driving me nuts!

That’s awesome!!! Love the color scheme.

Update
Kens Custom Auto Body has done an amazing job preparing the body for paint and this week the candy red pearl paint was applied. The red - deep and rich, looks great. Soon the white stripes and black-out paint will be applied.

It's back home! Ken's Custom Auto Body in Yuba City did a fantastic job with paint – true show quality. House of Kolor Brandywine is such a deep red and the Nissan Aspen White Pearl stripes really pop. You have to see it to appreciate how deep and rich the color. Several more months of work required to finish. Stay tuned!

Kurtiss wow it looks awesome again this was my first choice for a color or should I say pretty close to this color now comes the hard part the final touches to bring it all together, they say what makes a master piece is the details.

Back to Work!

I’ve have to be extra, extra careful around the extraordinary paint job.
I removed the front clip, hood, rear bobtail and clamshell and installed the lights, electrical harness, etc.. Now the items are temporarily stored in the car trailer until ready for final install.

To the interior. I installed the overhead panel making allowances for the rear view mirror map light wiring, overhead switches, GPS antennas and the microphone. Next I fabricated a support structure for the double-DIN car stereo (thanks to Rufus for inspiration) with a face plate placed between the center console and dash. I also added reinforcement to the center console to stiffen the structure. The items are almost ready for covering.

The seats from RCR are comfortable but are not upholstered and they do not recline. Given the limited height and width (passenger side), I found the Recaro Speed V reclining seats will fit perfectly and look great. They are pricey but very comfortable.

Kurtiss, your project is unbelievable. The finished product is well worth it. Was curious, are you planning to license with sb100 here in ca? If so, does that mean you could bypass smog requirements, or do you still need to worry about cats and tuning?

Thanks Jim! I do plan to try and license it in CA under SB100 as a special construction (1966 emission rules) requiring only a PCV valve. If that doesn't work, I'll move to AZ. :)

Lots of people are abandoning California for Arizona.
