Superformance Pedal Box Adjustment

Hi all,
I've just taken delivery of our Superformance Mk1, absolutely love it, just a few things to do to get it right, can anybody help with these:
Adjusting the pedal box - can it be done by a half-competent home mechanic?
Ride Height - I need to raise the car by 15-20mm to make it more suitable for our country roads, has anybody got the 'factory' geo settings?

Cheers

Yes on the first one. It has been a while since I have done it, and the space is tight in the foot well, but....it can be done fairly easily.

Yes you can adjust the pedal box yourself. Access is increased by removing the nose and unfastening the A/C evaporator unit. Once access plate is removed I believe there are 2 upper and 2 lower bolts holding the pedal box in. Trying to move the box from inside the cockpit may be possible, but very difficult.

Mine was one of the first SPFs (a MKII). Not sure if things have changed or if the MKIs are different. This is how I did it:

Yes, just buried my head in the footwell and doesn't look like too difficult a job really.
Might be tomorrows job............

Beautiful car Stuart. From the picture, the front ride height appears low. The ride height settings attached were posted on the forum a few weeks ago.

The data indicates the front being 1/4 lower than the rear. It's not much rake however it does help keep the nose planted at high speed or very high speed (under the right circumstances of course).

On a level floor, measure what you have and adjust accordingly. Probably 4.25 / 4.5 on the front will make driveways, ramps and speed bumps much easier to navigate. Also, it's a good idea to set ride heights with weight of fuel, driver and passenger on board.

Get used to taking inclines on an angle rather than strait on, says the guy who beached a GT40 on an underground parking garage ramp...

Cheers Ian

Here is the Superformance "Owner's Manual" I got with my GT40 MKII. It discusses ride height, and suspension settings. One thing I did is set my own car up a good bit since I drive it in the real world. There is a MKII on the Hillbank website that is a good reference that I used as a model----it's a black one that I think is one of the Shelby "anniversary models".. I have attached a picture that I found of it. I still have to be careful, but don't grit my teeth at every road irregularity.

Thanks guys for the replies.
I had a go at the 'from the footwell' method of adjusting the pedal box - just not able to get to the one back bolt out!
I'll raise the ride height, that looks easy enough, then get a local motorsport chassis company to corner-weight and set the geo.
Quick question: can the front be done with the wheels on? and best jacking points for the front?
Cheers

A bar across the quick jacks and a floor jack. The SPF quick jacks are fully functional.

I've adjusted with the wheels on and it's not difficult..

Yep, thanks, made a quick-lift bracket from an old weightlifting bar and a bit of quarter inch plate, front lifted 15mm, rear will be going up later.
The front is now at a usable level for road driving.

So, I finally had time today to adjust the pedal box.
It really wasn't difficult - thanks to the above excellent video.
Suspension height also at a better level for road use, just need to get the geo corrected now!
