GT40s

Hi Ron. Yes, I know you are local, Roseville? I'm just past Auburn. The latest info I've received is that I do not have to purchase the 15s so I have none for sale although until she arrives nothing is for certain.
I'd love to meet you and see your GT sometime. Although I have a SPF Mk3 I expect the GT to be a new level of involvement and will appreciate any guidance you have to offer.

No problem about the wheels. There is another SPF GT40 owner in your neck of the woods, Mike, I believe. Has a beautiful car, perhaps my favorite SPF, track focused with dry sump etc. He's on here occasionally.

You'll find the GT an entirely different experience from the Cobra. Better for longer trips, worse around town. Do you have your motor/transaxle arranged? An installer or are you going to do it yourself? Not too hard, if you have the tools. I have some resources. It would be interesting to compare your car (later model) to mine (early model). When do you expect to take delivery?

I've met Mike Murphy. He was kind enough to reply to a request to see a GT40 way back in 2019. He lives a couple of miles away from me in Meadow Vista. I'm up in Colfax. I agree, he has a beauty of a track car and a good vid of his driving from Laguna Seca to match. Mike took me out for a spin in his GT and with that experience and several drives at Laguna Seca in one of the SPF demo GT40s I was totally hooked.

Everything else feels like public transportation. Well, maybe not the Cobra... I'm planning on having Gordon Levy of Levy Racing do the install. I've been in limbo for four months so Gordon hasn't been working on a transaxle. I know it can be problematic.

Do you know of any transaxle available out there we should look into? I've been told by Hillbank that she's out 5-6 weeks, arriving at Olthoff, then needs to get shipped to Levy in AZ.

Sorry about the multiple messages. I run into the 420 character limit all the time. Then there's the 2 minute time delay...

Franklyn,

Right now, I think the wait for a transaxle is going to be your limiting factor. I have an RBT, but the wait list has historically been very long...you'll want to get on that ASAP. That said, I do think I saw one for sale (a ZF) here on this forum in the last few days. Definately do a search. I'm sure Levy Racing will have no problem with the instal, once you have the transaxle.

Oh, and ignore the ZF listed for sale right now...an old, obvious scam listing.

I’m still waiting on a final chassis price. The one sent to me didn’t have my deposit credited and had wheels I didn’t order. Like I wrote, two dealers is one too many.

Gordon Levy has quoted me a graziano trans at $25k which includes the L140 package and stouter internals. I’ve seen superlite indicate a $12k price for the trans on their site but I’m assuming and will confirm what Gordons price includes.
