    An electric GT40? Why not?

I can certainly understand this thought. I am seeing quite a difference in the cars being sold this year and what is being pushed. I feel like I am at least 10 years into my build as well. Been wanting it for a very long time. I am not sure what the finish line will look like when I get there...

    Warning lights

:p I and I suspect that most Millennials will find it very odd that there were only 4 warning lights! I doubt I would be able get away with that these days with registration requirements in Australia. Hence my list above. I seem to recall seeing a diagram somewhere? was it in the SAE files?

    Warning lights

Is there a list of what warning lights functions were used on the original car somewhere? This is something I have been looking at currently, as I was trying to purchase the remaining items for my dash. The list I am thinking of getting at present is as follows, some of this is based on what I...

    Casting pedal box

James, I look at that, and still can't understand how it goes together, or how you even work out how to make the patterns the way you do! I can sit there for ages looking at it. Do you put the sand into the large one on the bottom left, and then when you remove the sand from the box, it has...

Project GTX - rear hinge - pedal holder

It is very hard to tell that it is a welded construction. With some shot blasting to obtain a cast texture and paint, it will look right at home in the foot well of the vehicle. well done! cheers, Ryan

    Hartwell Body Latch Bases

Not from me at this stage Adam, I have a bunch of bits to make latches and still need to construct the rest of the latch mechanism as well.

    Questions from a model builder

Bugger you James! LOL, i thought i had worked that bit out, now i am not so sure. XGT1 at the Simeone Museum has the scalloped one painted black. See Video GT40 Tech Talk - YouTube The 300 series is 2.2" in diameter. I have not been able to confirm the size Wisco Products - Series Visual...

    Questions from a model builder

Indeed. All infected with the same condition :) Welcome to the madness Justin. PS, the "Filler Breather" cap for the dry sump tank (the gold one) should be like the 303 Scalloped type from Wisco Products and have the additional tab spot wellded onto the side of it to allow it to be locked...

    MFT Holinger for GT40

how cool is that thread where the side plate for the diff goes in. I wonder have they thread milled that with the CNC millining machine. I know that the middle casting is multiple wall as well, as the opening on the top goes into a separate cavity. It provides extra triangulation and support...

    An electric GT40? Why not?

I think you need to start looking at what the future will look like. do some research on what the various generations of people are requesting insurance quotes for collector cars. Ie the type of cars that are possibly 3rd or 4th cars for a household. Look at what these generations are valuing...

    David's Monocoque Build

Very nice Dave. What have you used to cut the 3/8" (10mm) steel stock that the hammer forms are made from? I've estimated the thickness based on GT40P-1-2319/20 drawing. I am going to have to get a wriggle on. Loving this.

    David's Monocoque Build

Would you class Maple as a hard wood? We don't get them often in Australia. I'm sure you could get the wood if you looked for it, but it would be expensive furniture grade stuff. Maple - Wikipedia I have heard of people using various wood hardeners, stains, lacquers etc. to treat wood that...
