    Kurtiss' GT-R

That's great Larry! A 4 month lead time isn't bad. I don't plan to order mine until after I have a chance to see the car at SEMA and talk to the FF folks at the booth. What motor/trans are you planning on using? Rear end (3 link, 4 link, IRS)? Wheel size? Seats? etc......

    Kurtiss' GT-R

Congratulations Larry! That's one big trophy - well deserved. So you're interested in building an FF Type 65 Daytona R. That's funny because I'm thinking of building the same thing except not the R (I want to carry and scare a passenger). I'll be at SEMA in November and plan to ask a ton of...

I apologize for not responding sooner. I was at the Chaparral Pit Crew Party in Midland, Texas (see photo). The white GT-R belongs to Ken Tanner and that's the Chaparral 2J vacuum car between us. Tony, I used 6061 whenever possible or 5052 if 6061 wasn't available. Johan, The Youtube video's...

My wife and I attended the Friends of Steve McQueen Car and Motorcycle Show at the Boys Republic in Chino Hills, CA. Everyone loved the car and were awarded with the prestigious "King of Cool, Chad McQueen Award" trophy. Had a fantastic time and met lots of wonderful people. We plan to attend...

    Kurtiss' GT-R

I took the plunge and replaced the FAST ECU's (XIM, XFI and VTC) with the Holley ECU's (HP, Coil Drivers and Ti-VCT). I enlisted David Ehrlich of Autotrend EFI ([email protected], 530-642-0999, www.autotrendefi.com) to tune the engine. After several sessions, Dave has remotely tuned the...

    Side window hinge hardware

Michael, Billy mentioned RCR (http://race-car-replicas.com/parts/gt40-style-window-vent-hardware). I purchased a set and they are metal at a decent price.

    Jim's RCR GT-R build

Jim, I talked to H this morning. He is extremely busy moving his shop to a new location and consolidating many years’ worth of parts and equipment. He does plan to offer the GT-R items again (fog light buckets, center console, door cards, wheel wells, clamshell hinges, brake lights and...

    Jim's RCR GT-R build

Hi Jim, I remember receiving the car and some of the loose parts became a guessing game on what they were for... Took me awhile but I figured it all out (and I still have parts left over - LOL). I didn't use the nose clips. I modified the front clip per H and others to create a hinged lid to...

FAST EZ EFI self tuning system issues

George, I also have the Borla Eight-Stack with FAST XFI, XIM and VTC on a Coyote engine. I've had nothing but problems with the system and absolutely no support from FAST. I'm making plans to replace the system with Holley as recommended by Borla and several tuners. You mentioned that FAST...

First Car Show! "Run To The Sun" car show in Lake Havasu City, AZ. The car was a big hit - lots of interest and I won Best of Class - #25 Race or Sports Car. The trophies are beautiful Kachina Dolls. Had a fun time and made lots of new friends.

    Kurtiss' GT-R

Thank you for the wonderful comments. I couldn't have built it without the help and support of the amazingly talented members of this forum. The images above in post #342 were taken on a cloudy day. The sunshine really brings out the depth of the color.

    Kurtiss' GT-R

I'm already thinking about what I should build next. I'll be at the SEMA show for four days supporting the California Four Wheel Drive Association but I'll have lots of time to checkout the vendors and shop tools. Should I build a Factory Five Daytona, Ultima RS, Superlite SLC, Valarra...

Interior real estate is sparse be there is a lot more room compared to the GT40. Not sure about the SLC.

Sneak peek. After 5 years she's almost done - only a few little tidbits left. The interior is done except for a panel to cover the electronics. I also need to install the door windows, make a few panel adjustments and clean and wax. I'll be taking it to Lake Havasu City for the "Run To The...

    Kurtiss' GT-R

While waiting for the dash to be upholstered, I completed the rear end. Installed the wheel wells, bobtail, Gurney flap, clamshell, and wing. My wife did a great job making the induction system covers. Before I can complete the front end, I need to vacuum, leak check and charge the AC system.

    Kurtiss' GT-R

There are a few things I must do before final assembly like front wheel alignment. In post #256 I modified the front suspension to remove the 1-1/2” wheel spacer but neglected to check the alignment. I used a Quick Trick alignment tool, followed their directions, and took my time. I used the SLC...
