Whats too much Horsepower for an SLC?

That's a pretty broad question with out any details of your intended use. I would say it's too much when it becomes unusable and makes you go slower for your motoring event. Otherwise there is no such thing as too much power. My next RCR build will be Twin Turbo 1500hp+ build for 1/2 mile and...

    SLC Build Thread-Chassis #53

I think it's tension. It's only an issue above 6700rpm. The belt stays on below 6700rpm. It pops off when I took the run to 7200rpm. Somewhere in between 6700 and 7200 the belt comes off. Under normal circumstances it seems fine. For Clarity: I'm not using the RCR AC mount. My setup is...

Doing some clutch and drivability testing. Can't keep the AC belt on. I'm definitely pleased with the sound.

    Exhaust

There is a silver SLC with a SBC race engine and 180 degree crossover headers. I believe a few members have heard it person. Every crossover header I've heard sound fantastic. It would be a lot of work to fit. Running a Porsche trans will give you a lot more space to make it happen.

This would make a great drivetrain for a SLC!

It would be cool, except that motor is pretty big and heavy. Price is very steep.

    Something we all need:

Are you guys 100% positive? It's barely been on the market. I know some other brands clear spray on solutions didn't work so well. If you're right, it's a big letdown.

Thankful it won't cost us big $$$ to have our cars custom clearwrap guarded anymore. I guess it was only a matter of time: New Product Review: 3M Paint Defender - Clear Spray-On Film - Top Speed

Re: Slc 007 for sale Wow...smoking deal. If anyone realizes how much time is spent just researching and ordering parts alone, it's worth it!

    Truck-engined SLC? Engine management?

Welcome Dan. Imo the only reason to venture down the path you are suggesting is: because you want to... There is absolutely no objective argument to make for a Ford v10- not cost, not weight, definitely not performance or even ease of install. That said, I would love and encourage you to...

    Rumbles SLC Build

Very innovative. I'm looking forward to see how this comes out. I've always been envious of Mesa's trunk... I didn't phrase that properly.

    SLC Aftermarket Seat Option

I have the Cipher Viper seats which are smaller than those and do not fit either.

    Fire Suppression Systems

How does the 1230 compare to Duponts FE36? I read that the Halon replacements are not as effective as halon was/is.

    Chassis stiffness...

This is an interesting comment from the Ultima Factory in response to questions from potential customers: "Surely solid mounting the engine with a mounting plate would significantly strengthen the engine bay?-- Yes it would but this simply doesn’t suit a road going car and would make the car...

    SLC Build Thread-Chassis #53

Thanks Grant. I hope to hit 200mph safely one day! I'm looking into some chassis mods to make it legal for the sanctioned mile events in the NE. I've spoken to Fran and the event organizers over the past year to see what's needed to be legal, what's safe, and then try to come up with my own...
