    New Header Source at XtremeClassics.com?

Mike, A few of points here: 1. Stainless vs mild steel - Stainless will trap heat better than mild steel so your engine compartment will be cooler. 2. Coatings or not - All the coatings I've seen will burn and ash-over at bends close to the heads if the air/fuel ratio is proper. Once you've...

    New Header Source at XtremeClassics.com?

Hi Mark, Yes I understand your concern yet waiting 9 months for a set of non-existant $2800 headers is proving costly. Consider that the collectors I'll be using cost almost $400 each. It's a high-end system. No excuses. I can barely get the parts for $2800. For another datapoint I have...

    New Header Source at XtremeClassics.com?

This is a marketing probe to see who needs GT40 headers. If you could get top quality headers built in 4 to 8 weeks for approximately $4000, how many of you would go for it? Downside? ERAs only unless you can get your car to me in Northern Virginia for a couple weeks. I have come to the...

    distributor replacement for ECU engine

Going through some old posts and I find this one needs an update. The info from Ford was incorrect WRT the Ford sync fitting 302s and 351s. Plus there is another issue at hand. 1. The 302 distributor hole is 1.50" dia. while the 351 is 1.56" dia. Thanks Ford. I have a 302 sync on my shelf...

Plumbing the EFI fuel return for twin tanks - need ideas

Re: Plumbing the EFI fuel return for twin tanks - Gary, I got the valve at a speed shop in Berryville, Va. but it came in a "Standard Ignition" box so I'd have to believe you can order it from NAPA anywhere. Mark

    porous wheels

Final (hopefully) update: As Jongbloed and Ted at ERA suggested, a heavy application of epoxy paint to the inside surfaces of the wheel will seal the porosity. 30 psi and holding.

    porous wheels

The manufacturer, who will remain anonymous, told me to smear RTV over the porous area. He said they had a lot of problems with that particular casting. 15" wheels came with the kit. I figured I'd debug the car on these especially since tires are so cheap then I'd upgrade to some 16 or 17...

    porous wheels

Here's an update: The spot RTV'ing did not work. The holes are just below the bead bump on the wheel so The RTV gets peeled off during tire installation. Both ERA and Jongbloed said to use epoxy paint, unthinned and lay it on heavy. So I bead blasted the inside of both wheels and epoxy...

    porous wheels

I just got off the phone with the manufacturer. He suggests smearing the leak spot on the inside with RTV. So I'm wondering if that is the professional solution. Opinions? Mark

    porous wheels

Both my rear wheels are porous and will not hold air. I have purchased wheel sealer before and had good luck but I can't find any presently. Does anyone have a source for wheel sealer. Thanks, Mark

Best ECU available in the US

Brian, I've purchased the Electromotive TEC-3. I guess the main reasons were because I was interested in closed loop O2 and timing control plus they had a solution for a problem I thought I might run into. Mainly trying to idle an 8 stack EFI unit with poor vacuum signal. This and the...

Plumbing the EFI fuel return for twin tanks - need ideas

The marine fuel valve from Pollak, listed as a "Standard Ignition" part number, is an "FV6 Fuel Valve". You should be able to order this from a NAPA store (if you're a Yank). Gary, It's a three port. As used in a boat it would have two tank feeds into a shutoff valve at the carb. I'm using...

Plumbing the EFI fuel return for twin tanks - need ideas

The marine model has 3/8" stainless fittings. They are glued, screwed and tatooed in so you don't have the option of AN is you so wish. I figured the returns won't have much pressure and a stainless screw clamp will do.

Plumbing the EFI fuel return for twin tanks - need ideas

Update: I've settled on a Pollak. I found one that is for marine use. Stainless nipples and some kind of corrosion proof coating on a cast metal body. Of course "marine" = more dollars but it's a substantial looking item. Sorry I don't have the part number handy but if someone needs it...

    weber carbs

A properly tuned set of Webers should not give you trouble. Tuning them is not hard if you know what you're doing. I know you're reading between the lines here. Poorly tuned Webers can give you lots of grief and unless you know or know someone who knows how to tune them it could be tricky to...

    Imagine injection

I looked into Imagine, Kinsler and Hilborn. Imagine's largest bore size was smaller than Hilborn's smallest. This should add up to more torque but less revs with the Imagine. Probably just what you need for the street or 302 sized engine. Kinsler was probably the most high tech (magnesium)...

    fuel solenoid - constant duty

Greeting, I am looking for a pair of fuel solenoids that can be used "constant duty". The NOS solenoids are good for a 20 second duration and that won't do. Does anyone have a source for "constant duty" fuel solenoids? Thanks, Mark

    351 windsor cyl heads

I'm running the Victor Jr. heads with Probe racing pistons at about 10.5:1. I like the Edelbrock quality and that my Hilborn injection matches the Edelbrock ports perfectly. I have no dyno data presently but hope to have her running this spring.
