possibly the sickest engine/tran package for an SLC ??

Les, The original concept for the SLC featured a transverse engine layout. I'll bet Fran still has that chassis stuffed away somewhere. Bust out your wallet and call him up!

    Del's Build: SLC IR/8

Good looking ride there, Iike the orange accents and the flat steering wheel. Allan is getting really good at laying his paint down smooooooth. When there is some time away from my latest project I need to get into some of that accent color work myself. Nice.

    Anyone got $420k laying around?

That car has been in process a long time, probably has 100K in the driveline and who knows how much in shop rate labor on top. At that price the real question would be "How sorted is it and how well finished?" Expectations would be VERY high at this price point

Yes, nice! It's a Schwartz LS7 and Hollinger sequential.

A Quirky Cam Video with High Carbon Content ! I like it. The audio track is critical for relaying the sound 'feel' of these things. Following your lead, a cell phone was taped under the rear clam, this was the only way to get close to capturing the high pitch of the supercharger. To...

Robo-Racing.... It’s coming..... Can / Should it be stopped?

It's more R/C cars than Slot cars.

Not directly related to the conversation, I just thought it was a sexy picture. Hot.

I like the idea of it as the nose structure is a little under spec IMO. My take is the inner nose vertical supports will want to sit right on those external side tube structures. You could move them inboard or outboard.

I was out on my maiden video run Sunday evening to get some bulk footage, there is much to learn and understand. For cameras I have at my disposal - two Contours, three GoPros and one Vivitar. How do you capture engine sound? Any camera mounted outside the car is useless for audio (wind noise)...

    SLC Steering Column Placement

I cut the spacers in my column to where it was as high as the column could go. As with Cam's experience, mine touches the bottom of my gauge display. And I keep it tilted up as far as it will go at all times. In my case there is no need for enabling the power adjustment features of the column...

    Del's Build: SLC IR/8

Look at that - a 'blown' diffuser, they have been outlawed in Formula One for some time now. Adrian Newey would be jealous ;)

    Del's Build: SLC IR/8

Good story. Love my Audis (S8 and TT), although maintenance and insurance is a little on the high side. If you are planning using an SLC as a driver what do you plan to do for chassis corrosion protection (powder coat?) and weather sealing package? Driving one reliably in the rain could be a...

Slc how does it stack up against the super cars of the world

My Audi is paddle shifted, love the ability to keep both hands on the wheel when hustling down a winding road. My SLC has so much torque and power that you don't need to shift it nearly as much on the same road. For any high power OEM level fit, finish and interior SLC 2,300 lbs is a pipe dream.

Handling - RCR40 vs SL-C (or other RCR cars)

Probably none of them. Best would be a WRC type car or replica like a Stratos, Renault R6 or some such. Most RCR products are meant for real sized racetracks or roads, 60 mph and above. Of course most of which we will never get to appreciate on a US road. To really get to experience the limit of...

    SLC 001 Build

Dave, Really nice to hear from you, I appreciate the checking and commenting. (Dave and I did our DMV SB100 applications in the wee hours of the same cold January morning. Being at different locations, we kept our spirits up via cell phone pep talks)

    SLC 001 Build

So one winter project was to get some weatherstripping installed. Unfortunately, I needed to rework the door handle fills (then repaint) before that could happen. For a still unknown reason the exterior door handle fill work printed through to the paint. Short version of a two month story - all...

Enjoyable video. We have got to get together for a drive, I look forward to spring and dry roads. Mexico huh? Is that the ''Bonneville'' of Sandy Eggo? Your car runs out of revs quick, shifts really smooth. I was surprised NOT to see anyone hanging out of their car taking videos. 6:30 AM Sunday...
