    Australia Burning

Weather conditions are predicted to worsen tonight and tomorrow with an increase in temperature and winds. Melbourne was smoky on Monday but seems clearer today. Sydney seems to have all the smoke in the last couple of days, so it could swing back around again. there was an image floating...

    Australia Burning

Arrived back in Melbourne Sunday morning via boat from Tasmania. Drove from Hobart up through the midlands of Tasmania to board the Ferry. Noticeable smoke haze and smell in the air. Ran the AC in the car on recirculation the whole way. Even now, I’m sitting in an office on the 16th floor in...

    GT40 Mk2 XGT-2 rear screen mesh size

Steve, have you got a photo? I’m not sure on which style your after. Some of the stuff for the MK II generation of cars probably originated out of the USA, and may not be common in the UK if that’s where you are located. Ryan.

It was chassis P1015. I believe it is currently in the Shelby American Collection.

    Australia Burning

Thanks Ian, it’s crazy down here at the moment. The fires have been burning for a few months now and we can’t seem to get them under control. Everything everywhere in every state is very dry. I was up in northern New South Wales in late September and it was dry and burning then. We drove back to...

Interesting to see the LG500 transaxle mentioned in those papers. I have seen/heard mention of this transaxle being used twice before. I just don’t know which chassis it was used in.

    Crossover fuel tank system

@IanAnderson you can see some of the coolant and dry sump oil lines being removed from P1046 during the restoration that Rare Drive did.

Graham, are the baffle flaps in the Aluminium/Magnesium adaptors that bolt into the side of the sills?

    Crossover fuel tank system

The 4” hose may have added a degree of reliability to the system as well, it would allow a degree of strength that a smaller hose would not. The 4” rubber hose also gets pinched down to a smaller height to pass under the coolant and oil pipes that run lengthways through the central tunnel. End...

    Crossover fuel tank system

I have only been able to find those few photos of p1040. Would like to see a few more of the other MK I’s and the interiors. We’re the MK I systems a 4” crossover as well? Did they have to move any of the sponson d ribs to fit it all in? Ryan

    Crossover fuel tank system

Thanks Graham, i will have to look those up. I think X-1 also had a crossover as well, not sure how to classify this one though as its something of an in-between car. Different chassis again and was later converted to MK II spec drive-line prior to its 1966 12 hrs of Sebring win. Ryan

    Crossover fuel tank system

Curious if there is a known list of cars that had this installed? the ones with the 4" cross link between the side bag tanks that ran under the drivers knees. Chassis 1040 which is a MK I had it. Chassis 1046 the MK II lemans winner had it. presumably chassis 1015 that Miles drove in the 66...

They were testing a 427/T44 or was it an Automatic (Kar Kraft T45, cant remember wat it was numbered?), that had 4 side draft Webers on a crossover intake manifold weren't they?
