What happened to the Superlite cars Apex?

We are still building one. The mechanicals are complete. The body work is in progress. We will post pictures soon. I am not sure if anyone else has tackled this. Lots of design, build and redesign as there is little information to go on.

    LBC Build Log - Apex

Building this car is much more difficult than building other RCR kits because there are no directions on how to proceed and there are so few being built. It involves a lot of trial and error and buying a lot of parts that you later find do not fit as they interfere with critical parts later. I...

If you are planning to put the fuel tank in the front, install the rack first. It constrains the space that you have to put the fuel tank or fuel cell.

    Martin Superlite APEX

There were no instructions to do the cuts. They were necessary to clear the frame.

    Martin Superlite APEX

I am still looking for information on what shocks/springs to get for the rear of the APEX. Fran, can you give us some information for this?

    Martin Superlite APEX

Scott. Did you receive the shocks and springs? If so could you post the information(brand, part number) so I can order the parts.

    Martin Superlite APEX

I am ready to order springs for the APEX. Anyone have some initial values for the spring rate for the car?

    Thanks for the diagrams.

The spacers will have to be adjusted in length and spacing when the suspension is all together. I am not sure what the caster should be or if there should be any on the rear since the wheels do not turn. I'm open to thoughts on this. There will also have to be shims under the brackets to...

    Martin Superlite APEX

I am planning on making the shims and spacers. We do have some machining capability.

    Martin Superlite APEX

Spacers will be machined to locate the control arms. Those and thin washers will allow the castor to be adjusted. Shims behind the mounts will be used to adjust camber.

    SLC-Stealth Lambo Crusher

The helper springs are not necessary but they are nice to have. They keep the springs centered so you do not have to recenter the spring caps every time you jack up the car.

    LS376-480 start problem

Ran a scan on the PCM on my wife's G8 since the engine is about the same. The values were about the same except for the MAP sensor which had been replaced. After correcting that, the engine starts and runs fine. This has been a learning experience. Thanks to all who contributed ideas.

    LS376-480 start problem

Power for the fuel pumps is turned on by the PCM. The injector test activates the fuel pumps and cycles each injector several times. This has been putting extra fuel into the intake manifold.

    LS376-480 start problem

I have two fuel pressure gauges, one on the regulator and one on the fuel rail. They both read 60 psi during the startup process. The fuel pumps are running all the time during start up. I went away from the Corvette regulator to an adjustible regulator. I have varied the fuel pressure from...

    LS376-480 start problem

I have tried all the suggestions that have been suggested including a different PCM, crankshaft position sensor, MAP sensor and none cleared the problem. But I have narrowed it down to a fuel problem. I accidentally started it while checking fuel pressure. The night before I was using a scan...

To build my SL-C or alternative...

I have built a GTM and am finishing a SLC. I will never build another GTM. Way too time consuming and there is no way to get all the defects without a total redesign starting with the chassis. The body is a build within itself. Contact me and I will give you a total comparison.

    LS376-480 start problem

Shane, I am getting injector pulse. The voltage at the injector is the same as the system voltage. 10.6 volts when cranking. Jumping the battery, the voltage during cranking is 11.0-11.1 volts. Fuel pressure is still 58 psi. Tonight while trying to start it, it would hit once or twice and then...
