Damnit Joel, now I want to upgrade to Tillett seats!! I thought I had put that extra expenditure to bed long ago. No, seriously, nice work as always, keep it up!! Good, solid install. I may have just missed it in your video but did you add large fender washers or steel plates on the...

OK, took free time today (that has been in very limited supply lately) to at least drool over my SLC a little and take some measurements. I will hopefully be back to working on it in a much smaller schedule that before starting later next month. I will follow up to everyone on here with a...

Adrian, As soon as I have a free moment I will get out to my shop and get you the requested measurements. I have been very busy lately so it may take a few days to a week to get back with you (I have not touched my SL-C since June).

    Tinted Lexan Windows - Please?

if your body is painted black under the window and you are not using any foam weather-stripping I think you could get away with no frit. In my close up picture above you can see the blue masking tape showing thru that I was using to temporarily hold the window in place. Any foam weatherstrip...

    Tinted Lexan Windows - Please?

Thank you Del, Fran, and everyone at RCR for making this purchase happen. Here is how they look on an unfinished car. I was curious as to how the tint compared to the front windshield. I think they compliment each other well (I pulled the protective film back on the upper corner in the one...

    Tinted Lexan Windows - Please?

Mine are scheduled to be delivered today. Now I just need time to work on my car. Summer has been very busy with other things, my timeline is out the window. It needs a serious re-baselining.

    Tinted Lexan Windows - Please?

Del, Thank you for the update. Wonder why they are phasing out tinted lexan? Are they having issues with it, forming it perhaps?

You my friend have a warped sense of fun! Hauled it to my place on a flat bed trailer and the plan was to lift it off the trailer with my two post lift, pull the trailer out, then sit it down. Easy, right...............wrong! The trailer I borrowed was 2" two wide to fit between my two post...

    Aaron's SL-C build...

That is a similar product to the PPG DX Roadguard that I have used. Nice find. Good luck on the go-kart session. I am envious of your progress, I am dying to get back in my shop to work on mine. Have not touched it in a month.

Two words: New toy!! Head is rotated 90 degrees so to allow me to back in into my shop on a trailer. Can't wait to get this setup and operational. The key now will be to refrain from remaking all the brackets I made manually that I can now make absolutely perfect.

    Aaron's SL-C build...

Aaron, Nice work and great idea to protect these areas. I may do the same. On my GTO restoration I used a PPG product called DX Roadguard on the undercarriage and the wheel wells. It is holding up well and I may use it on my SLC now that I see what you are doing. Are you spraying color over the...

Jeff, When it comes to what mods to do and not do a lot is dependent on your plan for your build. The options you chose from the factory and modifications you plan out will be very different based on if you are doing a street or a track car. Personal preference also plays in. This is my...

Joel, Thank you. I am super relieved that the windshield is in. Can't believe that had me so worked up. As far as the door opening, I plan to bolt my side windows in with extra fasteners and if the doors appear to be too flimsy I will reinforce them on the inside with carbon fiber.

I've been anxious about the windshield installation so I tackled it this evening. I ordered some 5/16 3M Window Weld Ribbon Sealer to do the job. I used this on the GTO windshield when I replaced it and it worked very well so I stuck with what I know. The main benefit is there is no mess in...
