HELP WITH A ACCELERATOR PEDAL CABLE

The LS pedal was already mounted as the car started out FBW and I couldn't find anything aftermarket that really looked like it would fit or mount well in that area, so I just kept the LS pedal and attached the reversing linkage to it.

HELP WITH A ACCELERATOR PEDAL CABLE

In my experience, trying to use a cable and running the cable out toward the front of the car and then looping it back to run to the engine does not really work. The 180 degree loop causes too much friction and it takes a ton of force at the throttle pedal to move the throttle blade at all. On...

Go with stock thermostat or a cooler thermostat?

Agreed....which is why I would not recommend going down to 160 t-stat. I doubt that would even get you into closed-loop operation...the engine would be constantly running in "warm-up" mode.

Go with stock thermostat or a cooler thermostat?

If you have a sufficient cooling system, the operating temp is going to be just above the t-stat rating. If you install a 160 degree t-stat, your operating temp is going to be around 160-165. A 195 degree t-stat is going to give you an operating temp of around 195-200. If you have a 160...

Go with stock thermostat or a cooler thermostat?

I probably wouldn't recommend going down to 160, but I think it's worth considering dropping to 185-190 range. This has nothing to do with engine performance and everything to do with engine bay and cockpit temps. The hotter your engine and cooling system runs, the more heat you have...

    Graz & Shift Adjustment

Your #2 question sounds more like a syncro issue than a linkage adjustment issue. I don't have any first hand experience with the Graz, so not sure if that is typical or not. If not typical, I would say it probably has to do with what you used for gear lube. Some gear lubes are not very...

    LS3/480 Tune

If this is a crate engine ECU.....as I understand it....there are no provisions for an "AC on" signal. Therefore, there is no way for the ECU to anticipate the additional load of the AC compressor when coming to idle and it has no way to compensate to prevent stalling.

    LS3/480 Tune

Curious......do you have the AC on when it stalls?

    C8 Corvette Transaxle

Understood! And 5 and a half decades ago.....that GTO would have been seen as one of the top performing "American performance cars" available.....and I'm sure that 55 years ago, it probably delivered on that promise. Fast forward to today and almost every single aspect of that "performance"...

    C8 Corvette Transaxle

A quick google search indicates that your '65 GTO weighed in at 3478.....while the '70 GTO that I mentioned weighed in at 3781.....a 303 pound difference. And what did your 250GTE weigh?...google search shows 2820.....which sort of makes my point....right.....? Again...it matters not one bit...

    C8 Corvette Transaxle

I guess I was under the impression that a "normal" SL-C build was closer to 2500lbs? The last GTM I ran across the scales was 2520 lbs...and that was with full interior, sound deadening, stereo, AC, fuel.... No doubt that there are great advantages to the dual clutch trans....but what's the...

    C8 Corvette Transaxle

Something to consider........this transaxle weighs in at double what a manual Porsche trans weighs. Then add the entire 'Vette harness, all of the control modules/computers, brackets to mount all of that stuff (that's not normally there).....and pretty soon, you have a 3,000 lb SL-C......which...

Failure to establish communication with Chev Perf LS376/480 ECU

What are you trying to connect with?.....have you tried the scan tool on a different vehicle to make sure it's not the scan tool? If the scan tool works but won't connect to the LS ECU, I would contact GMPP thru the paperwork that came with the engine and see what they have to say....this...

    C8 Corvette Transaxle

I'm guessing the biggest hurdle will be the electronics. The transaxle operation is going to be tied directly to engine function.....and my guess is that the only way to get it to work would be to have the ENTIRE electrical system from a C8.....or wait for GM to come out with a crate...

    SL-C's for Sale?

Anyone know of any good quality completed (used) SL-C's for sale right now? Must be a 100% complete/finished car.

    Direct Injection vs. Port Injection

I second what Roger said. A lot of manufacturers switched from port to direct injection, only to find out a few years later that their engines were suffering huge carbon deposits on the intake valves resulting in various engine driveability issues.....so most manufactures have now gone to the...

Weird LS startup issue - fuel or electrical?

When you cycle the ignition on, the fuel pump should come on and run for about 2 seconds and then shut off. Should also run while cranking. If you install a new check valve and the fuel pressure still won't hold, you might want to check for a leaking fuel injector? With the symptoms you're...

Safely loading SLC onto flatbed or trailer?

The GTM isn't probably going to be 100% the same, but to load a GTM on a trailer, we normally take the winch hook and hook it over the rear leg of the lower front control arm as close to the chassis as we can get it....then I stand on the cable in front of the car to keep the cable from pulling...

Best way to adjust Grazianno shift cables?

If this is only an issue on downshifts, it sounds to me like this is more of a synchro issue than a linkage issue......which may be just a matter of a break-in period or gear lube choice.
