For some perspective on the "kit car" thing...the white Gallardo and SLC are mine. I love my Lambo...but it's just a going out car. The SLC sitting next to it doesn't seem like a kit car to me or anyone else that's talked to me about it. It's just a ridiculous race car...and makes my Gallardo...

Agree Ken...much cleaner that way. If I have any drama with my PS pump, I'll convert to that set up too. Wondering if there's a better belt out there for the job though. Looks like he still had to use some big standoffs on the compressor to make it fit.

Hey Ken! I did keep the PS pump as an idler, and I used the oem compressor bracket modified to fit the vintage ac unit. I'll try to dig up some pictures for you.

I'm not going to use a wiper either. The motor is installed in case they want to see it during inspection...but I can't see a need for it other than that. Plus...it's ugly.

For what it's worth...I think I'm the one who's guilty of introducing those clamps to Jim. They're really nice and robust, but can only be used on the sides of the chassis under the body. +1 on the Corvette forum. I got the manifolds and downpipes (with cats) off a ZR-1 for $250. I used the cats, but even if you don't...you still get the flanges.

No way! I was waiting to see it all together. Why don't you just kill the head unit? You could use a car PC, mp3, ipod, etc...I'm using a permanently installed iPhone for my radio/nav. JL sells a nice interface/preamp module with volume controls. I'll probably put in a DAC too just to clean up...
