    Hello from Thunder Bay

Well, as I was building the engine for the Avenger GT I decided to bore out the cylinder openings and have now installed German Mahle forged 92mm pistons and cylinders to increase the engine size to 1835cc for more power. I also installed an Engle FK Cam that is similar to the 110 to 120...

max safe revs from a 302

With the early 289/302: 5000 rpm = nice performance shift point 5500 rpm = occasional good high performance 6000 rpm = once in a while or how big is your bank account ? Is the rule of thumb I go by! Lol The 289 revs easier...

    289 build recipe

I used GT40 heads with headman headers on a 1968 302 once with a mechanical CAM with 288 degree advertised duration and 460 inch lift. It was as big a Cam as I would want on the street, still offered good drive ability and pulled hard to 6000rpm. I think it is easy to overdo the Cam on the early...

    302 or 351W??? I'm driving myself nuts

The blacked out tail light panel is actually a mesh grill that allows heat to exit the engine bay...it sure worked and looked cool. The Kelmark GT455 had two radiators to keep it cool. The second was at the back just ahead of that vented tail light panel with two electric fans moving the hot air...

Here's my old Kelmark GT with custom tube frame and Olds big block 455 and Toronado transaxle I rebuilt that I mentioned in my last post. It would give most GT40 replicas a good run for the money! Lol I could not resist the Dino/ Ferrari paint scheme!

    302 or 351W??? I'm driving myself nuts

I had a 200hp 289 in a 67 Mustang with a C4 and two barrel 500cfm Holley and I loved that little motor on the street it was rev happy with plenty get up and go in that light coupe. I never revved it more than 5500rpm. Later, I got hp crazy and built a 302 with 306hp. Holley 600 4V, Headers...

    Hello from Thunder Bay

Hello, i am the new guy from Thunder Bay, ON, Canada with a 1967 Fiberfab Avenger GT-12 built on a EMPI modified 1960 VW chassis with a twin carb, dual port 1600cc engine! I know, I know, it's only a look alike GT40, an old kit car; but, it's all I have and it means a lot to me.
