Possible new owner of a Ford gt. A lot of doubts

I recall the same, and machined his own rims to fit a Countach tyre on the rear. Hopes for my first trip to Le Mans sank bleeding brakes at first light prior to a broken driveshaft on the way to the ferry. Maybe too much grip / oomph for a 90’s home built? We jumped into a backup car where I met...

Possible new owner of a Ford gt. A lot of doubts

Ken Saunders moved to France circa 2000 with his KVA, along with Mike Osborne with a Tornado to renovate a farmhouse ‘Forty Towers’. I believe Ken held onto the car until his passing in 2019.

A GT40 For The Taller Person

I’m 6’2 with a MDA mk2 near Newark (Notts). My athletic build ran away some time ago but do have head and leg room to spare. No bubble, with a seat pan fixed directly to a lowered floor. The seat base is pitched up an inch or two at the front for confort and gain extra leg room. Car is elsewhere...

    Alternative Energy Sources discussion

We think alike… and not much to go wrong. GT should be back with me soon. An ECU upgrade to sequential injection and maybe gain a few extra mpg there too?

    Alternative Energy Sources discussion

Still running a 2010 Ford Focus diesel estate as a daily driver… ignoring lights, radio & a clock no electric anything and dash says 62.1mpg. An entertaining game of maximising mpg in traffic whilst not arriving any later than using a lead foot. Mpg stat not reset since I bought it. On balance I...

Isle of Man TT fastest ever lap 136.358mph

I can only think many laps around the TT develops a muscle memory to proactively shift body weight etc in advance of bumps and turns. At these speeds a ‘reaction’ is too late and you are in a hedge (or worse).

    AP mk1 twin turbo

Can you share a link for the GPS module? Can assistance be dialled down if too much? Have a Corsa EPS in a ‘40 with a non GPS box of tricks which is too light for my liking at anything above parking speeds.

Can someone pull together some historical (this site) loose ends

Aye, Robin built a place other side of the river to the farm known as ‘Forty Towers’. Foundations included a large cellar for his plonk. A 351 if I remember right, white with blue stripe. Maybe an engineer by trade? Ken, Mike & Robin pictured on cover of Aptil / May 1997 edition of the magazine...

Can someone pull together some historical (this site) loose ends

I knew Mike Osborne editor of GT40 club (UK). He built a Tornado (BRG with yellow stripe) & moved to a farm in France with Ken Saunders c.1999. Vague recollection of a family connection with Canada but memory is foggy. No contact for years.
