    Big block motors

Just wondered if at the time (66-71) someone with a mk1 thought I can do that. clearly the FE motors offered a big lift in power & for races not governed by championship regs, maybe someone gave it a go. It wouldn't have been so difficult a task as there were always some good engineers about. If...

    GT40 P/1061 detail photos

Hello graham, its been I while. I thought that the front section was widened on the very late cars, certainly on the 68 Gulf cars as they ran wider wheels on the front. regards, Simon.

The only reference todate I can find is in R. Spains book where 67/351/01 is the motor that won the first race for JWA & Gulf.

    Early 351 use

I think its painted red over black but not exactly sure. What is striking is that its clearly been stored for a very very long time but its super clean & no corrosion evidenced. Here are a few more images so you can see what I mean. It is a 4 bolt.

    Early 351 use

Hi, thanks for your post here, seems that there isn't anymore info out there other than can be found in the R Spain records of the various cars results ending 1970. My 289/351engine shows various marking, casting number etc. Clearly there were vey few 0f this type ever used so its a rare old...

    Early 351 use

Thanks gents, I appear to have an early H&M 4bolt 289 block that had it's casting adapted to increase the deck height thus giving a 4 inch bore a cubic cap of around 351. It's got casting number starting with XE and the crank & mains caps have H&M ID and $ stamping. From information found here...

    Gurney Eagle Heads value?

Hello Tom, was it your intention to seek to sell them on as I would be interested. They need to have a pressure test done if they are to be used and this will assist in their value otherwise they are only of static display use.

    Correct original 67/68 Calipers

Thanks guys. I am still reasoning what best to do with this car of mine. It is realy a 67/68 spec car but most people want F (pre 66) series papered cars & they look like they hold there value better because of this. If I do go ahead and seek to have my car resemble a 66 car there is a lot to...

    Correct original 67/68 Calipers

Sorry Guys I'm back on with these brakes. If I want to get pre 66 (F) FiA papers, I have to change the disks to solid. The question then being can I retain the Girling 18/4 16/4 stoppers or do the solid disks dictate a change of Calipers & if so what for exactly?
