304L or 316L for cooling tube elbows

Hi,

I am planning on having some elbows welded to the stainless steel cooling tubes. I see there is a choice between 304L and 316L stainless and that 316L is more corrosion resistant.

My question is which is the better choice?

I assume matching what is in the kit makes the most sense, but not really sure the type of stainless included in the kit. Appreciate the advice.

Joel, on my earlier cars I used 316, mainly for the corrosion resistance. 304 is more magnetic and seems to get build up inside the pipes. Others may have or had other experiences, but that is what has worked best for me. At work, we only use 316 on anything we run liquid through.
