Belt tensioner....What do you use?

Ok, so I'm using an electric pump and therefore making a solid 5/16 sheet of aluminum cut with appropriate openings for alternator/AC pump. Will be a nice and solid setup when I'm done with it (so far I've made the template with 1/8 aluminum sheet). I would like to use a tensioner instead of the standard slotted metal to move the alt/ac to increase tension...I have one that is supplied from superformance, but it is just a bolt through a bearing that is in a slot on the metal.

New cars use automatic tensioners don't they? Anyone have pictures or suggestions regarding the type of tensioner to use?

Auto-tensioners are generally used on serpentine belt systems and the tension force is set up for that belt strength. If you are using v-belts,this could require a corresponding tension adjusment. Also many types of auto-tensioner pulleys use the smooth/back side of the belt. For some ideas, check Concept One Pulleys. They make a compact system for FE's.
