FS USA Borrani GT40 Wire Wheels

I have two 6.50" x 15.00" Borrani GT40 wire wheels that were on the front of 1966 GT40 Mk I Race Coupe P1040 in 1978 (see my avatar). The wheels are original/unrestored. In addition to being used on the front of a Mk I Road GT40 and Mk III Street GT40, I believe the 6.50" Borrani was sometimes supplied as the spare wheel. Specs follow.

6.50" x 15.00"; Model "3860" and "3861" per hand written numbers inside one rim; "386" is inscribed on the inside of each hub with an electric engraver; 7-1/2" width, outer lip to outer lip; 6-1/2" width, inner lip to inner lip; 24 spokes on outer rim; 48 spokes on inner rim; 72 spokes total; 74-75 splines (with my lousy eyesight, I keep getting two different counts).

Some years ago I queried Borrani in Italy about these wheels. They replied:

"The reference RW 3860 and 3861 were sperimental wheels never producted and had the type 32 hub (66 splines), those numbers are just the numeric production of the lot of centre-pieces." Since I counted 74-75 splines three different times, Borrani's spec of 66 splines is incorrect for my two wheels.

I am asking $1000 for each wheel, or $1750 for both wheels as a set. Shipping from Annapolis, MD to be paid by the buyer.

I also have two 8.0" x 15.0" Borrani wire wheels, reference number 4301. These were on the rear of P1040 in 1978. Borrani ID-ed these as Ferrari Daytona wheels. They clearly work on a GT40 (again, see my avatar), but do not have the correct part number for a GT40. PM me if interested.

Regards, and Merry Christmas!
