Bullet style vintage mirrors

Can anyone let me know where I can get bullet style vintage mirrors for my CAV #91. I'm on a few web sites that offer reproduction ones but I had to return one set because they were too small and cheap feeling.
price can range from $50 to $500 each.

It's hard to tell if what's offered is a good size for the car.
maybe some of you purchased a set for your car and got it right.

thanks
Carman

Hi John, thanks for the info. They look good. I like that they are polished stainless, no chrome pealing or rust. Can I ask you to measure the mirror, the ones I've seen are around 3-1/2" and that's too small. I did find one set on a web site that said the glass size was 4" but they want over $400 each for them.

Thanks
Carman

I get all my mirrors from Talbot Company. They carry genuine Talbot mirrors (which is what you are looking for) as well as the full Vitaloni line.

Talbots are quite expensive, but top quality.

Vitaloni Sebring mirrors, mounted on the tops of the fenders, were a popular choice on genuine GT40s, and that's the way I would go, personally. Talbot also sells those. You should also consider Pegasus Racing.

Here's a link to their website:

Talbot & Co.

Their website is old and clunky and uses frames. You need to select the various links under "Mirror" on the left side.

Carman, I have a set of brand new ones, I'll measure and photo tonight and post the images, I plan to fit Cooper mirrors so don't need them. K

I have brushed aly Talbots. Somewhat fragile, but look the part.

They are a bit spendy...I think it was over $300 each.

Here's my mirrors, chrome plated brass. 3 3/4" diameter.

Wow! $300 each! Off track, but;
Went to an old copy of Road & Track magazine (1961) and found similar Ray Dot mirrors for $5.95 each. Time flies.

Hi Carman, not sure of make, they are from Tornado, www.tornadosportscars.com, part number 40-90, I bought a part-built tornado, they are part of the kit, still boxed, as the car is not near the 'trim stage'. I looked again and can see no manufacturer's markings, so can't say who made them. Do you need other information about them, if so, let me know I can get it for you. K

Hey Keith,
I'm still looking but will keep u in mind. I'm not ready for them yet.
starting the Pre-trim parts list now.
I do like them very much so please send me any info on them.

Carman, no worries they'll be on my shelves for a few months yet. I'll see if I can find out any more info on them. I am on holiday until early Aug, so it may be a while before I get back to you. K
