Chris MK2 427

Hi I’m Chris I’ve always wanted a GT40 since I got a toy one when I was 5 . I’m a car guy with a deep love for the blue oval . Current line up includes a couple of 1964 mercury comets , 1957 Skyliner, 1964 ranchero, 550 Spyder replica. I found my GT40 as a collection of parts . I have some interesting stuff for it an aluminium 427 block with SK aluminium heads , Holman moody Weber intake with Italian Webers , magnesium dry sump . Unfortunately it didn’t have a trans or a chassis .

Sounds like a great project Chris. Can I ask what SK heads are ? I am not familiar with that name.
Good luck on your project!!

Regards Brian

Still uncertain I have a lead on an original gearbox over here , but I’m expecting at least 580 ft pd out of it so maybe a quaife might be a better option
Mike Teske might be worth approaching for a T44, they built a few when doing the continuation run of MKIV's, given that ~350 ft ib was the rating for a top loader you might need to apply your 580 ft ib with care, although the R&P might be the weakest link.
