I seem to recall them trying to do this a good 10+ years ago also. Seems a good way to push their own brand, but I suspect it will fail to produce fields of sufficient size as to actually “look” like a race.

I hope they are successful this time. The more track time these FIA HTP compliant GT40s get the more spectacle for the public attending the events and enthusiasts worldwide. It's also beneficial for the race shops who maintain these cars and or provide "arrive and drive" services. Lots of parts time out, needing overhaul or replacement.

Ill guess public at events might still be doubtful comming up 2021.
I see lots of events already beeing postponed to a later date.
