Dax uk gt40 replica ?

Hi,
I recently saw on a motorshow a Dax UK GT40 replica
the car was in Gulf livery ,V8 Ford, Holley carb, Revolution wheels
but in a strange street set up : Left hand drive and left hand shift
When were these produced or were the chassis from someone else?

Produced by DJ Sportscars (Dax) from late 1980's to very early 1990's
About 35 produced in total
I believe about 10 have made it to completion - but I could be wrong

The project was then sold to someone who was going to set up shop in India to get better labour rates. He went away for a weekend and his light aircraft flew into a mountain. The project was last known to be rusting and languishing in a container in India.

I have chassis 10 and it is fitted with a Rover v8 unit (not my choice but I bought a half done project)

The chassis is heavy and the fiberglass likewise is not lightweight (1cm think at base of windscreen. It is also about 1 inch taller than standard as Dax decided the average height of people had increased since the 1960's when the originals were designed. That said at 6'3" I am glad of the extra height.

Any more info needed?

Ian
