Did anyone leave their RCR chasis natural?

I like the look of the aluminum chasis and parts and am wondering if anyone kept theirs natural finish and assembled the car without coating it or painting it? Wondering how it held up and would you recommend it? Or is there something I can apply like a clear coat to retain the all aluminum finish?

Thanks!

I used a product called Sharkhide on the engine compartment of my Cobra replica. After almost 10 years, it still looks great. Easy to apply, just clean/prep the aluminum and wipe this stuff on with a cloth. It dries quickly and your done.

Pat, like you, I like the appearance of aluminum in its natural state, even as it’s weathered with time and exposure. It holds up fine uncoated.

I think you may be thinking of Kirkham?
Of course I know David does. I mistook the OP talking aluminum not stainless. Anyway, I've heard good thinks about the Sharkhide and it's much easier to work with today than it used to be.

Sharkhide might be exactly what I’m looking for!! Will research it but seems easy enough to apply and looks like it holds up well.

I did not use anything on the chasis. Has been on the road for 3 years and looks like the day it was delivered. Annnnnnnnd, the chasis is a work of art. Would be a shame to cover up. My GT-R is on youtube under Zakari3030 GT-R #2 by Allan.
