GT40 Steering U-joint

Hello everyone,

I am currently looking for a 1968 GT40 steering U-joint. I have doubts on the origin of the parts on the car. Indeed, the steering shaft has 44 splines (quite unsual!) for a head diameter of 0.72 inches (around 23/32"). Are these characteristics normal for a 68' GT40 or not? If yes, where could I find these U-joints? If not, what are the original dimensions?
Thanks for your help,

Killian

I think the internals for the rack were from an MG car back in the day (well thats what is in mine) .... also what GT40? if its 1968 It could be a Mk 1,2 or 3?

I just realized only one side of the shaft has 44 splines .. all the others have 48 splines. It seems like it has been modified (also the U-joint are for 48 spline shafts). About the version I don't really know I just arrived in the racing Team. If I'm right, that car raced Le Mans in 68.. So it should be a MK1. Would you know where to find u-joints and the upper steering shaft as well?
