I've been gathering parts for a couple of years. I recently acquired some GTD parts and the interior parts have a leather/vinyl texture in the gel coat. Does anyone know the reason or background to this?

I have a gtd40 built 1984 the wiper arm is missing and I am trying to find out what it would have beenMy GTD is number 283 and the doors in particular are like that. I assumed they are all textured so that they look presentable when painted.
