IDF and gt40 ?

A friend of mine have a gt40 with a 302 engine and IDF carbs The engine start and run fine until it is warm then it start to smoke heavy . Someone have a tip on this?
Is IDF carbs good for SBF engines ? or is IDA the one and only?

IDF carbs are fine on a SBF as long as they're properly sized and jetted for a 302, no different than IDA carbs. You need to be more specific with how the carbs are set up for the engine, such as venturi size, main jets, idle jets, air correctors, etc. If he's had the carbs set up too rich for a long enough length of time, he may have been washing down the cylinder walls and may now have a cylinder ring sealing issue. Just speculation of course, but if you provide more information, it would help with a diagnosis.
